This week we are back to one weight loss journey in one year and it is utterly heartbreaking and inspiring. Jenn is a 42 year old wife and mom from Wyoming dedicated to serving her family and her community as a 911 emergency. Unfortunately she isn't able to control the emergencies in her own life. When she was 9 she was watching her brother when he fell and hit his head, dying three days later. She turned to food to comfort her. Now as an adult she is faced with losing her husband who suffers from a rare form of rheumatoid arthritis, lupus and sjogrens. They are giving him 2-5 years. She is over 180 pounds overweight and is looking to lose the three decades of pain and shame.

At her first weigh-in she is at 342 pounds. Her first goal is lose 92 pounds or more in the next 3 months. For the next year she will be on a 1750 calorie, 5 meal a day diet. But most importantly she needs to be broken down so that she can lift herself back up emotionally. No more beating herself up and taking hits, time to fight. Part of her change is seeing her baby brother's grave for the first time. She even requests leave from bootcamp to visit during the anniversary of his death. Her sister reiterates that his death is not Jenn's fault and Jen finally accepts that she is not responsible. At her 90 day weigh-in she is at 264, only 78 pounds down which means she hasn't met her goal. But she really does look healthier. In all honesty she was averaging 1/2 of an avocado on top of her meals which is an extra 250 calories. She felt that she could make it up during workouts but she really just needed to stick to the plan. Her goal for Phase II is to lose 55 pounds.

After her reveal at home she meets with her real father who she hasn't had a relationship with in decades. This should be chip #2 off of her shoulder. Before her next weigh-in Chris and Heidi are taking Jenn and her family to Disneyland for a family vacation. BUT, she has to run the Disneyland Star Wars half marathon for her milestone. Before they can get to California Jenn's husband has to be taken to the hospital twice via ambulance. His doctor tells him his spinal cord is crushed in 4 spots with an 8-12 week recovery if he choses to do surgery. Jenn is faced with the dilemma of quitting or keep going.

Finally at Disneyland Jenn weighs in at 221, missing her second goal by 12 pounds. IF she wants skin surgery she'll have to get down to 205 pounds at least. During the marathon she started cramping up and by mile 8 was falling apart. Jenn had to stop 6 times to stretch but finishes strong in her husband's honor.

At her 9 month weigh-in Jenn is at 207, only two pounds away from her Phase III weight. She has lost 39.45% of her original body weight. This means she isn't able to for the skin removal consultation just yet. At her final reveal and weigh-in Jen is down to 182 pounds and looking damn fine! This means she has finally hit a goal and is eligible for skin removal surgery!
