One year, two transformations. Chris and Heidi Powell are back to change two lives for the better.

Josh is a 29 year old gay firefighter/EMT in Weeping Water, NE inspired by his father's death to transform his own life. In 2013 his father was involved in an automobile accident and Josh was called out to help. He was trapped for an hour and half while Josh watched. Josh is about 200 pounds overweight and looking for a new start. Chris gives him just that after a fake emergency leads to an announcement that he is on the show. At first weigh-in he is 399 pounds at 6'5. First goal is 100 pounds in 3 months at the Anschutz Health and Wellness Center in Denver. But Josh can't get past himself and Chris and Heidi are at a loss. Finally Josh confesses that he has PTSD and it's causing anxiety attacks during workouts. He threatens to go home because it's familiar territory and he impulsively believes that will be the cure. Now Chris and Heidi no know that a qualified professional is what Josh needs along this journey. After doing his body composition Chris feels Josh's ideal weight should be 250 pounds.

At his 90 day weigh-in Josh is down 112 pounds! Chris' phase II goal is to his is goal weight. But when he goes home he arrives to a hodgepodge of junk food in the house. As his surprise, the World Firefighter Combat Challenge is in Phoenix and Josh is going. His job is to make it through the toughest 2 minutes in sports. And he does it in 2 minutes and 26 seconds. At his weigh-in he is 254 pounds, 4 pounds shy of meeting his goal at the 6 month mark. At his one year weigh-in we get to see some modeling pics and learn that he is 247 pounds. He pays it forward to his sister.

Kelli is a 27 year old former basketball star who missed her opportunity to go pro, replacing basketball with food. At the end of high school she blew out her ACL and began her relationship with food. She made it to college but didn't put in her all. She hasn't touched a basketball in over two years and is terribly lonely. Chris wants her to rally 10 people in one hour and meet him at the park. She didn't get 10, she got 16. At her first weigh-in she is 331 pounds. Her first goal is to lose 81 pounds in 3 months at Anschutz in Denver. Apparently while losing lots of fat, she has also put on lean muscle... which the doctor says is very rare. Chris even thinks Kelli could be completely done after phase II, which is a total of 6 months.

Kelli's newest setback is loneliness. Not just friends and family, but a partner. Even if she loses the weight, there's no one to share the journey with. At her 90 day weigh-in she has lost 88 pounds. At the 6 month mark Chris wants Kelli at her goal weight. While at home she's been dating and working out with family, but she can't seem to find a balance. Chris' plan is to send Kelli to Miami to see her favorite basketball team and for her 6 month weigh-in... she's 210 pounds with 18% body fat! Which means she hit her goal right on the head and she is eligible for skin reduction surgery. The first woman to complete her transformation in 6 months. But Chris isn't done. Now Kelli gets to be the Miami Heat's VIP guest for their game. At her one year weigh-in we get a peek at her new boyfriend (looks eerily similar to her favorite basketball player, Birdman) and learn that she is 208 pounds! She pay sit forward to her Dad.
