After watching Chris Soules get down on one knee and proposed to Whitney Bischoff on The Bachelor finale, we had the chance to interview the happy engaged couple. We wanted to find out more about their budding relationship and any plans they have for a wedding.

Q: How did you both deal with having other women in the picture as your relationship evolved into what it is today?

Whitney: For me, I think that it was - you know, I just tried to stay focused on what I was there for and my relationship specifically with Chris.  And I tried to just block out everything else around me.

Chris: That was probably one of the toughest things throughout the entire journey. But I thought - I went into it with the mindset that I was going to give -- each and every one of those relationships 110 percent of my focus when I was in that relationship - but I did it with the thought process of finding my wife and knowing that that's what I was looking for.

Q: Whitney you obviously nervous before the proposal and said you were trying to be realistic, but did you really have any doubt he may not propose?

Whitney: Yes.  I mean, I think that I was just trying to stay, you know, grounded. And like I said, I was just trying to be realistic.  And the truth of the matter was is that there was another great woman involved.  And so, I was confident in my relationship with Chris, but I also wasn't there to know what he had with Becca.

Q: Chris, did your family ever explicitly say "We like Whitney better," that we didn't see on the episode?

Chris: I mean, I think that I totally got, you know, what they were saying there because, after Whitney left it was like - for them it was like, "Wow, this girl's perfect.  There can't be anybody better than her."  You know, it's like,  it was just so clear to them.

Q: Whitney, can you tell us a little about your casting experience or any advice you have for others who may apply in the future?

Whitney: I think it's important to be realistic with your expectations and be realistic with yourself in terms of why you're going on it.  You know, it did push me to limits that I didn't know I could be pushed to, physically, emotionally.  It's exhausting.

Q: Are your families excited about wedding planning and you guys being together?

Chris: I think our families are just excited for us to have this - have - you know, the same thing we're excited about is for us to be able to be normal human beings that are in love and be in the public and be able to spend time with our families,

Whitney: Yes.  And I know - and, you know, speaking from mine, I think that they just are excited, you know, for this to be - for them to get to see Chris and I together outside of the cameras and to really just see us, you know, be happy.

Q: Chris, how did you decide to accept a spot on the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars?

Chris: Well, I was approached to be on the show a couple of weeks ago.  And, you know, I put - I gave it some thought, talked to Whitney about it, talked to my family about it and... It's just an exciting opportunity to - you know, to learn to dance, to do something fun that's sort of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a farmer from Arlington, Iowa.

Whitney of course will be in Los Angeles to sit in the crowd and support her new fiancé while he takes the floor on Dancing With the Stars. The season premiere of Dancing With the Stars airs Monday night on ABC.
