Kate Plus 8: Rocking the Boat

There is one food in-particular that reminds everyone of coastal Maine... lobster. What the miniature Gosselin kids weren't told while they were naming those adorable little lobsters they are catching is that they are for dinner. Maybe Kate wasn't told that lobsters scream when thrown into boiling water? Another lesson Kate and the kids are learning are whether or not animals (mainly lobsters) have souls. Kate says "no", Joel says "absolutely they do". Lucky for these lobsters they are like Willy, FREE! This family has decided that pre-murdered lobster will be all they try on this trip. With lobster bibs intact the lobster delivery lady instructs on how to rip them apart.

Left behind on an island while Kate takes the younger ones lobster trapping, Mady, Cara and their friend stay behind and check their phones. Ah, teenagers. Other activities this trip include rowing and paddle boarding. Surely the sullen teenagers enjoyed this activity... nope. If stomping away on water could be done, Mady has perfected it. High on their vacation list is shopping, however.

(Sweet Gosselin boy moment: "She is really good for 8 kids and one mom. I'm really proud she's my mom." C'mon!!! So sweet!)

One night each summer the kids are allowed to eat ice cream for dinner. This is a surprising decision from organic-loving-Kate but it was oh so cute. They made the ice cream themselves and made "beach sundaes" equipped with little lobster gummies. A tradition any child would love.
