There is a change.org petition currently in the works asking TLC to cancel their popular show "19 Kids And Counting". According to the petition, Michelle Duggar's robocall in Fayetteville, AR (the Duggars live in nearby Tontitown, approximately 20 minutes away) has incited LGBTQ fear mongering. Her robocall is as states, "Hello, this is Michelle Duggar. I'm calling to inform you of some socking news that would affect the safety of Northwest Arkansas women and children." It goes on to say that by allowing transgendered people into the bathroom of their chosen gender would "provide predators with access to women's restrooms in order to assault" them, according to the petition. They currently have 183,976 supporters.
At the Booster Banquet at Hannibal-LaGrange University, the Duggar patriarch said, "They won't succeed... Our show is the No. 1 show on TLC. It's a small group creating this fuss. All it has done is give us more exposure." And he doesn't mean the negative kind. According to E! Jim Bob claimed the family's Facebook page gained over 50,000 "likes" in the week following the petition started in early November.
The Duggars are no strangers to controversy but when asked to respond to the allegations Jim Bob simply stated, "We love everybody, but we don't always agree with them". In support of the Duggars and their beliefs, a counter petition has been started by fans (not the Duggars themselves) to keep the show on the air. They currently stand at 17,760 signatures, surpassing their goal of 1,000.
