19 Kids and Counting: Two Down, 17 to Go - a Covenant Marriage

This is the moment we've all been waiting for. Jill and Derick's wedding. Fantastic! We're all ready to see some front hugs and smooches!

A wedding volunteer meeting? That's what it takes to pull off a wedding of this size. And when you have the modest budget of Duggar, 200 volunteers are better than 200 people on a payroll (if each daughter spends the national average on her wedding, it will cost the Duggars approximately $200,000. Bargain!). Here's hoping each daughter welcomes such a budget or Jim Bob will be in trouble (Jill's wedding is 10 times larger than Jim Bob and Michelle's). But there may be one less person attending... Derick's mom, Cathy. She is undergoing cancer treatments and her prognosis is day-to-day, leaving everyone in prayer that she will not only be strong enough to attend, but to heal completely. During their morning devotion (complete with a chaperone for the last time) they call Cathy and she announces that she will be able to make it to the wedding after all. What a relief.

The wedding party is as follows:
Bridesmaids: Janna (maid of honor), Jessa, Jinger, Joy, Johanna and Anna (sister-in-law). Groomsemen: Dan (Derick's brother and best man), Madison, Steven, Tony (cousin), Jon and Joe (future brother-in-laws). And with a family this large, there are plenty of opinions to chose from. But Jill and Derick have a great attitude when it comes to unsolicited advice, wether the ceremony goes of without a hitch or not, the marriage after the wedding is what's more important. Truer words have never been said.

Poor Jim Bob can't even get through the rehearsal without crying. Remember, Jill is not the first Duggar child to wed. Even Josh admits that his parents pushed him out of the nest and forced him to fly. But Jill is the first daughter to leave the home and who knows if Jim Bob can hold it together. One thing he is looking forward to is announcing that "Derick may now kiss his bride". Both Jill and Derick are excited to share that very first kiss with all their friends and family. I think it's a little bizarre to do that for the first time in front of thousands, but I am not a Duggar.

But no wedding is flawless. The reception will host a plethora of snacks to be served; 70 gallons of pickles, 3,000 cookies, 1,500 cupcakes, and 50 batches of popcorn. One special item is root beer floats. But as ice cream tends to do, it melts. With no back up to such a special treat, those prayers will be coming in handy. Producer: "Are you going to tell Jill?" Wedding planner: "Absolutely not!" Good choice. Maybe it happened because Jill and Derick broke tradition and saw each other before the wedding? Fear not, they re-scooped all 3,000 cups.

The reason for being married in Arkansas? They not only call it home, but it is one of the few states that offers a Covenant Marriage. A Covenant Marriage is when you agree to counseling before divorce, and includes things such as an increased length of separation before a divorce can be granted.

Soon we will see Duggar daughter number two wed. Jessa, 21, is set to marry Ben Seewald, 19, November 1st.
