The drama on RHONJ this week was twofold. First we had the project ladybug event where the twins confronted Teresa. Then everything flashed forward to Teresa and Joe's sentencing - drama that even Bravo's talented producers could't create.
It seems that the only person who didn't know the Project Ladybug event was going to be a disaster was Dina. If an open candy bar and a large group of children wasn't enough to equal disaster, then the drama brewing between the twins and Teresa G certainly was. Nonetheless, Dina trucked on, planning the event and lying to herself that drama wasn't going to happen.
The twins decided they needed to clear the air with Teresa missing the memo that everyone was just going to leave Teresa alone while she dealt with her stuff. When the twins started calling her stupid and shushing her, my thoughts were "hide the tables, cause she's gonna flip out!" But not in the mood for drama, Teresa just lamented that she didn't mean to hurt them and the encounter ended with a hug. Easy enough right? Until the reunion anyway!
Then came the hard part. Bravo fast forwarded to the day of the sentencing and showed everyone in their respective homes, literally on the edge of their seats awaiting news. First they all learned that Joe was sentenced to 41 months. Forgive me for saying this, but the only person who was genuinely sad about his jail time was Rosie, as we know she has a special relationship with Joe. Everyone else was just concerned about the possibility of deportation. Then came the shocker, that Teresa was sentenced to 15 months!! Jacqueline was distraught and she ended up at Kathy's house with Rich, her husband, and Rosie. She and Kathy sobbed openly as the news hit them.
Obviously, the news most affected Teresa, Joe, and their little girls. But it was heartbreaking to see their family and friends realize the reality of the situation. Rosie noted that Gia was going to be driving before Joe was released from prison. Never mind driving, poor Gia is going to have to become a mother to those little girls! Joe's admitted drinking problem is going to leave him a less than inept parent. Our prayers and thoughts are with the Giudice family.
Stay tuned as the three part reunion begins and we find out how Teresa is handling all of this.
