They are trained to survive the wilderness, but can they survive each other? From the channel that brings you Naked and Afraid, we now have Tethered. Two people are dropped in the middle of nowhere and have to survive in the wilderness for 10 days connected by a 6ft tether. Sticking together to survive is essential, but this is extreme. The rope is locked and won't be unlocked until they are rescued.

The most awkward part is watching the personal interviews with the partner standing only 6 ft away. Picture it, an island in Panama, waves crashing, two men, one in camo and military boots the other in neon pink and guyliner. Keith, an Navy vet from Utah meets Willow, a yogi from California...this should be interesting.

Their first test is to select only three items out of a box containing several survival supplies (nails, machete, scuba fins, hunting knives, etc). They have 10 days to get through dense jungle swamps crawling with scorpions, snakes and the most toxic spiders in the world to their extraction point 47 miles away. Can you imagine swimming tethered to someone? Can you imagine doing anything tethered to someone? It is obvious these men couldn't be any more opposite, and it is obvious they couldn't hate each other more. Keith could wrap that rope around Willow's neck at any time (that would give Willow the peace and serenity he's been craving for days). There are a few moments of bonding, though. One being the eating of boa. Yes, you read that right... snake. Feels familiar, right?

After jumping off a 4-story cliff and swimming to their extraction point, all the aggression has lifted. They finally feel like a team.

I can see why they don't use one male one female but I'm starting to think two males is too much testosterone. This brings the word "hangry" to a whole new level. It makes you wonder if opposite sexes could make it work, or even two females. Only once this season will we find out.
