The Utopians will vote out a pioneer each month and tonight we get to see who each Utopian votes for and who America has decided to be the third nominee. The campaigning has been ridiculous during the live streams. You'd think if you were trying to make a new society you'd try to evade popularity contests, but this is a reality show after all.
It's contractor Josh's government now. No one has any real objections to his reign and it is similar to Amanda's. So, maybe this will be the final government the Utopians use for the remainder of the year. His only demand is a new workshop for everyone to use. But it begs the question, will Fox put in a camera or will this be the Utopian's new hiding spot for, say, baby-making practice?
Vets visit, shoot down Bri, and give a shout out to Red. They explain to Bri that she cannot ration the cows food and essentially starve them. And they are pleased with Red's experience with farm animals. Welcome back to the group, Red... sort of. You still don't get a say in decision making meetings.
Couples update: Tex (Taylor and Hex) are just fine but there's some red flags with Taylor that I hope Hex sees. He's controlling and apathetic. Bris (Bri and Chris) have a similar story... red flags. Even Nikki thinks Bri needs to be careful because she sees Chris disrespecting her continuously. I would consider him emotionally abusive. Mike and Dedeker (they need a nickname) are the most compatible and civil.
Voting time. Here's how the votes went down:
Rob votes Red
Josh votes Bri
Nikki votes Aaron
Taylor votes Bella
Bella votes Bri
Hex votes Red
Chris votes Bella
Bri votes Bella
Dedeker votes Red
Red votes Aaron
Kristen votes Bella
Ernesto votes Bri
Amanda votes Bri
Mike votes Red
Aaron votes Bella
That's 4 votes for Red, 4 for Bri, 5 for Bella and two for Aaron. Since Red and Bri tied they had to figure out how to decide between the two. But Red volunteers Katniss-style to take Bri's place... Bri is America's choice so she's a nominee regardless.
Why were these three chosen? Red seceded and isn't a team player. Bri has made some questionable comments about killing other people and is obviously lazy and immature. Bella is, well, Bella. But how harmful are her self-giving pep talks really? I think America has it right and I hope the pioneers understand that we see things on the live streams that they don't. We'll see who goes home next episode.
