Over this season we have watched Jill and Derick's relationship evolve from friends to courting to engaged. And just when you think this family couldn't be more bland, Derick pulls out the sweetest proposal.

Before the four eldest Duggar girls head out on their book tour for "Growing Up Duggar", Derick makes a special visit to talk with Jim Bob to ask for Jill's hand in marriage. With the facial expressions of the Kardashian family (meaning no expression at all) Jim Bob's replies: "Her whole future is wrapped up in who she marries... But we believe you are the one she is supposed to be with." It is apparent the Duggar family knew this day was coming even though the couple has only been officially courting for 3 months.

The girls' book tour starts in NYC and they do 1-2 signings per day from New York to Texas then back home, meeting between 300 and 1,000 people per signing. 25 Duggars shared only 6 hotel rooms while on the tour and of course someone is bound to get sick. According to eldest son, Josh (who brought his family to visit from DC), "When one child gets sick you might as well call the CDC because it's going to be an epidemic."

To date, chicken pox was the worst illness to be spread throughout he Duggar household with 12 Duggars getting ill at once.

Once home from their tour, Derick begins his nervous proposal planning and it's as awkward as ever. He obsesses over every detail including the bulge the ring box will create in his pocket. But even on a special day like this, chaperones are needed and Derick picks two of Jill's younger sisters to join them. After lunch the pair take a walk in a park and happen upon a musician who tells them they are the epitome of a song he had just written and asks them if he can sing it for them. ::Spoiler alert: Derick has planned this event and the song is a story all about their relationship!:: How sweet. He then stumbles over his words and drops to one knee, pulling out a gold .63 carat solitaire ring he had purchased while in Israel. A Holy Land diamond... what more could a Duggar want?? Jill immediately says yes and they ALMOST front-hug while gazing into each others eyes, careful not to kiss. Now, now! This is like Duggar porn! Yet they immediately realize now that they are engaged holding hands is finally allowed. And it doesn't look like either will be letting go anytime soon.
