19 Kids and Counting: the Big Question in Nepal

How do you know in 3 days if you want to marry someone? In my personal opinion, it's easy to fall in love if your first date is a vacation. But Jill is just as strict on herself and her relationship as her parents are and she's not going to commit to anything without the approval of authority figures in her life. (About those authority figures: Jim bob was 17 and Michelle was 16 when they had their first date. They married 14 months later.) I think she'll be ok on the parental side of things. Derick has already asked Jim Bob if he could court Jill, but is Jill too apprehensive?

As a father you don't want to be too strict or too "liberal", so Jim Bob encouraged them to set their own standards. According to Jill they discussed physical boundaries before their meeting and agreed that a side hug was the appropriate way to show affection without being too close or to distant. But during their tuk tuk ride to the Monkey Temple Jim Bob allowed Jill & Derick to sit together and when he takes a pic Derick puts his arm around Jill. She gives an ecstatic facial expression because of the closeness so although their heads are out of the gutter, nothing beats a lovers touch.

During their visit, Jill heard about a birthing center and called to ask if she could volunteer for a few hours. Her goal is to give prenatal and birthing care outside of the US which is probably part of her attraction to Derick (he's currently doing missionary work in Nepal). While she's volunteering Derick takes Jim Bob to a barber shop. A Nepali shave is one of the most popular activities among tourists and if every Duggar boy got a shave in Nepal it would cost only $2.50. Jim Bob appears deathly afraid of the straight razor stating, "I don't want to be a sacrifice here in a foreign land. Are you trying to improve our relationship or end it?". Funny man.

While at home, Michelle uses the time to bond with her other children and we learn that she was a bit of a naughty child herself. We also see Jinger teaching Joy Anna how to make bread now that the house roles are shifting. (In one sitting Jinger will make 24 mini wheat loaves of bread for the family.)

Finally what we've all been waiting for, Derick approaches Jill right before her departure from Nepal, "I'm interesting in starting an official courtship." She excitedly replies, while blushing and smiling, "Yeah that would be awesome!" And they confirm their new relationship with a side hug. Cutie patooties. When Derick returns to Arkansas in 2 1/2 months he and Jill will only be 40 minutes apart. How will they keep their side glances and uncomfortable conversations under control??
