MK Nobilette made her mark on Season 13 of American Idol and captured the hearts of thousands of fans. MK admits, she only watched American Idol a couple times, back when Bo Bice was a contestant in Season IV.
Singing John Legend's "All of Me" for the save last night, MK tells Reality Wanted, "I felt really solid about it. I just wanted to give a good performance before I left tonight. I think I did, so I'm proud." She "wasn't expecting" the judges to use their save, but because of how long they conversed during and after her final performance, she "thought for a moment they might."
As the first openly gay contestant on American Idol, MK said, "I want to be a good role model for other queer people who are afraid to come out or think they can't do something as big as American Idol. I really hope I influence a lot of people."
After the elimination, judge Harry Conick, Jr. had encouraging words for MK, "He says I shouldn't give up, and just keep trying and keep pushing, and that's exactly what I'm gonna do."
This certainly isn't the end for MK Nobilette. She'll first head home to San Francisco to see her family and friends, and then will join the other 9 remaining contestants for the American Idol Tour this summer.
