The biggest mistake Carole made on this episode of RHONY was trying to be nice. Aviva practically begged her for advice on writing her memoir, so Carole decided to meet with her and offer some feedback. Wrong move! The meeting started out innocently enough, and then took an awful turn when Aviva remembered that Carole was an actual writer and not some housewife trying to hock her life story. It seems that Aviva invited Carole to lunch under the guise of asking for help but actually intended to grill her on the validity of her writing career. She wanted to know everything, how long it took and most importantly if she used a ghostwriter. When Carole lamented that off course she didn't because real writers don't use ghostwriters, Aviva got a bit put off and felt that Carole was taking an arrogant stance. All went downhill from there...
After Aviva felt like Carole talked down to her, it was all she could talk about. Of course, because Aviva is the only one who can talk down to people! Not only did she tell anyone who would listen how rude Carole was to her, she started spreading lies about Carole using a ghostwriter on her first book. She even used a name for the phantom ghostwriter, Bill Whitworth.
Of course word got back to Carole, and at the worst time possible. The setting was Aviva's housewarming, and everyone was talking about the book situation. Aviva herself took time out from her hosting duties to discuss the situation with Kristin and Ramona. Kristin to her credit asked if she should leave while they were bashing Carole, and when told to stay, she stuck up for Carole. Ramona on the other hand ate it all up and then went and then spit out to Carole what Aviva said.
If Carole has proved anything since last season, it's that she doesn't play the normal "female" games. As soon as she caught wind that Aviva named her supposed ghost writer, she dragged Aviva upstairs to have a one on one conversation insead of making a scene. Carole tried to have patience, but Aviva jumped all over her nerves. She started yelling, and then said something to Aviva like: "What are you? You're nothing, you never had a job outside the home". Ouch!!
Stay tuned for the rest of the fight on next week's episode!
