The Real Housewives Of Atlanta Season 6: Episode 8 - Phaedra and Porsha

by Jessica Blackwell

This week, we were reminded of several things about Ms. NeNe. She doesn't like tardiness and she likes to stir up trouble while she sits high up on her throne and observes the drama. Her new friend, Mynique Smith, the wife of Chuck Smith, a former Atlanta Falcons player, was certainly prepared to do the stirring for NeNe on the trip to Savannah.

After everyone recovered from the fight on the bus, they got settled in at The Wedding Cake Mansion. They almost had another blow out when Kandi took the master suite, a big no no since NeNe coordinated the trip. NeNe opted to take the high road, despite Kenya urging her to say something. Why does Kenya seem hell bent on being NeNe's friend? Is it because she burned bridges with everyone else and she needs an ally? Either way, Kenya made several moves on this trip to either suck up to NeNe or try to stir up drama between her and others. First it was the lengthy speech about tardiness and then she was trying to make NeNe argue over the master bedroom. She's up to something!

NeNe wanted to school her friends, literally, so she took them to a couple spots rich with African-American history. They visited the first African Baptist Church, that used to be a stop on the underground railroad. During the tour, the guide explained that though there were visible air holes in the floor, they still had no idea how the slaves got in or out of the church. Then she said it. Porsha said it. She made an offhand comment about there having to be an opening somewhere because someone was driving the train. This crazy girl actually thought the under round railroad was a REAL TRAIN LINE. Her grandfather Hosea Williams rolled in his grave! How are you making a speech about teaching children about their history and you don't even know yours? My god, I thought we couldn't get any worse after she said 265 days a year. I was wrong.

It turns out that Kandi and Phaedra both used to date Mynique's husband. Instead of being cool about the whole situation, Mynique decided to bring it up over lunch and take several jabs at Kandi. First she brought up the fact that Chuck and Kandi had only dated for 2 weeks, when they dated at two different time periods! Then she commented that it must not have been that good to him, because they broke up, when Kandi was the one who ended things with him! She really shouldn't have opened up that door because Kandi started spilling all types of beans that she probably didn't want to hear,  like that he used to help her pay her bills, and buy her mother Louis Vuitton bags. Then things got more than a little spicy when Kenya asked Kandi and Phaedra how the sex was with Chuck. Porsha politely suggested that Mynique ask her husband some questions since he obviously didn't share the truth with her, and that's when Mynique went off and attacked Porsha's marriage. Then NeNe stood up like the hero and got them to make up when she was the one who started the drama in the first place. She knew was she was doing when she invited Mynique on the trip!

Next week the Savannah trip continues. Stay tuned!
