Ciera, Tyson, Gervase, and Monica on the finale of Survivor: Blood Vs. Water

by Gina Scarpa

It's the last day on Redemption Island and someone is about to re-enter the Survivor: Blood Vs. Water. The challenge is to balance a vase at the end of a balancing board using one foot, and it seems it's anyone's game. Even though I have faith in Hayden, Laura M's track record cannot be ignored.

After 15 minutes, Laura makes a miraculous recovery but Hayden slips and goes out first. She put up a hell of a fight but drops next and Tina wins her first duel and gets back in the game.

Tina's first move is to tell Monica how angry everyone is with her (are they?) as if that's a great strategy for reeling her in. Only time will tell which way Monica will go, but it's her game at the moment and she's the swing vote. Tyson takes immunity at the next challenge, where players had to stand up ten blocks while holding a table level. Plus, he has an idol he can use and he's getting dangerously close to locking up this game.

What he didn't account for was Monica, who is itching to make a big move after feeling bullied. The women would be able to pull it off if they wouldn't show their hand immediately at tribal council while an idol is still able to be played. As Jeff is about to read the votes, Tyson hands that idol over to Gervase and Ciera becomes the last new player to leave the game.

We've arrived at the final immunity challenge and it's a win or head to the jury situation for everyone involved. Players race down a giant waterslide, across an obstacle course to collect bags of puzzle pieces, and the puzzle helps them figure out a combination to raise their flag. Monica, Tyson, and Gervase are neck and neck heading into the puzzle, but Tyson pulls off the win, guaranteeing his place at the final tribal council.

Heading into tribal council, Tina has a crazy idea - convince Monica to go to a tie, forcing a fire making contest between Tina and Gervase. Tina wants to build fire because she feels confidently that she'll win. It's a big move, but a risky one... and it never even happens. The alliance of three stay true to one another and vote Tina out of the game.

CBS skips right over the rite of passage walk and heads to the final tribal council. Gervase's opening statement is that he was able to come back after 13 years and play a great game, Monica promises that she was no one's lap dog, and Tyson cries over Rachel losing on Redemption Island and the promise he made to make it as far as he could.

Vytas is the first to speak for the jury and tells Tyson he's keeping his promise not to vote for him. Katie asks him about his malicious move when she was voted out, telling her that the jury seat across the way was hers. If this is a bitter jury, I may throw something at my television.

Caleb asks Gervase what his game changing move was, who says that it was blindsiding Aras and takes credit for other big moves as well. Monica breaks down crying to Caleb, saying nothing in the last 21 years has been about her. Wow, nothing?! Ciera asks Gervase if he was ever going to vote Tyson out and he admits that he thought about it but knew he'd be the next to go.

Laura says she doesn't know who Monica is, and she goes on again about how this is her time. Moving on to Tina who asks each person for a one word description of each person. Monica chooses generous, Gervase goes with honorable, and Tyson says fun-loving. Monica starts to feel targeted by Hayden and turns on the jury, shouting, "Have you all never met a nice person?" Her strategy here definitely isn't working. Aras goes last and makes Gervase choose between Monica and Tyson for the million and of course, he picks Tyson. Same question for Monica, who also picks Tyson. Everyone should pick Tyson.

Let's transition this baby over to California and find out how this jury voted, shall we? Here are the votes: Monica. Tyson. Tyson. Tyson. Tyson. Tyson. TYSON APOSTOL WINS SURVIVOR: BLOOD VS. WATER!

Stay tuned to RealityWanted this week for interviews with the final Survivor: Blood Vs. Water players.
