Tonight, Team Christina and Team Cee-lo took the stage for the first time as the premiere of the live shows continued! The show kicked off with a beautiful performance by coach Christina and A Great Big World singing their new song "Say Something" and was followed by some great performances. Here are the best of the night:
Tamara Chauniece
Looking to push the envelope, she decided to sing Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive". I couldn't think of a better contestant to sing this song. You have to be a powerhouse to do it justice, and of course Tamara rose to the occasion. She had everyone in the audience dancing in their seat.
Caroline Pennell
Singing "We're Gonna Be Friends" Caroline took the stage with so much confidence it's heard to remember that she's only 17 years old. She has an awesome, unique voice that's hard to imitate.
Olivia Henken
This Kentucky native has made one thing clear - she ain't going back to working at her Grandma's tax office. Tonight, she chose to perform a stripped down, country version of Katy Perry's "Roar" that allowed her to showcase her HUGE range. Even if she doesn't win The Voice, someone in Nashville has got to be watching this girl already. Christina said that her performance made her heart feel proud.
Stephanie Ann Johnson
This girl has been tossed round and round, she first joined Team Christina, then was stolen by Cee-lo and then stolen back by Christina! Christina chose "Georgia On My Mind" and it was a great pick. The song allowed her to showcase every note in her range and the audience loved the jazzy twang she gave to the song. She vowed to perform tonight like it was her last, but I certainly hope it isn't, cause she's awesome.
Matthew Schuler
Christina wanted Matthew to showcase a different dimension, so she gave him one of the pop songs currently topping the billboard charts - "Wrecking Ball" by Miley Cyrus. There is no question, his performance was one of the best performances of the night.
Jacquie Lee
At just 16 years old, she wasn't even thought about when her song choice came out. She chose Nina Simone's "I Put a Spell On You" and BROUGHT THE HOUSE DOWN!! Good lord, this girl has pipes! Carson was rushing everyone's comments after her performance, but they were flabbergasted! Cee-lo even called her the future! She's certainly one to watch during this competition.
