Last night during the premiere of the battle rounds, there were some amazing performances. Contestants were stolen and competition was once again stirred up between the judges. Tonight, fewer contestants performed, but they were equally amazing and rocked the house!
Jacob Poole vs. Matthew Schuler
If you recall, Matthew is the one who earned the fastest four chair turn in Voice history. I would feel bad for anyone who had to go up against him, but Christina had to pair him with someone. Surpringly, although Jacob only turned one chair during the blinds, he rose to the occasion, more than rocking his part of "My Song Knows What You DId in the Dark" and gave Matthew a run for his money. Although Jacob did well, Christina chose Matthew to move on with her team, and none of the coaches decided to steal him.
Kat Robichaud vs. R. Anthony
Cee-lo gave this dynamic duo Aerosmith' "Don't Want to Miss a Thing" for their performance, and they blew it out of the water! Christina compared Kat's performance style and confidence to that of a tiger, and that paid of for her, because she's moving on to the knockout rounds!
Monika Leigh vs. Greg Boudreaux
If Christina ever decides to hang up the towel as a Voice coach, Cher can fill her shoes with no problem! She gave this pair, specifically Monica, a hard time during rehearsals, but it ended up really pulling the best out of them. When they performed "Some Kind of Wonderful" they did really great, with the differences in their voices complimenting the song. Blake chose Greg to move on with his team, but Cee-lo stole Monika, so she's moving on in the competition as well!
Stay tuned for more battles!
