Having loved ones in the game has complicated Survivor more than ever. You miss your loved one, you worry about them, you helplessly watch them struggle, and you do your best to protect them however you can. It seems there's no way to play this season without a lot of emotions coming into play... which brings us to Redemption Island.

Rupert, Candice, and Marissa compete in a challenge where they must maneuver small bowls through a maze, which is on top of a spring, and stack of them on top. The only person to lose their stack was Rupert, as Candice blew through it quickly and came in first, and Marissa seized the opportunity to finish in second. Surprisingly, the long-time veteran Rupert was the first one to leave the game, but Laura pulls it together quickly to refocus on the game. Now that he's gone, she's no longer a duo - and perhaps, no longer a target.

Over at Tadhana, Brad looks to make a move to get Rachel out, hoping that Tyson will take her place on Redemption Island. That doesn't work for John, though, who is hoping to keep Candice safe as long as possible. Complicating matters, because she won the challenge, Candice was given an idol clue which she of course gave to her husband. He doesn't want to share information so the guys are beginning to rethinking their alliance with him.

It took exactly three and a half seconds for Colton to revert to his old ways. At the Galang camp, he's had enough of everyone getting along so he tries to stir the pot by turning everyone against each other. It doesn't work, he's now a target, and a new alliance forms in Aras, Gervase, Tyson, Tina, and Monica.

In the immunity challenge, players roll in a barrel through an obstacle, retrieve bags of balls, and then one tribe member plays a version of Skee Ball in order to win. The tribes are basically neck and neck throughout, leaving it to Gervase and Hayden at the end. Gervase squeaks out a win and celebrates just about as loudly as he did last time.

Despite mulling over the idea to blindside John, they decide to stick with their original plan and send Rachel to Redemption Island. Whether or not Tyson will take her place remains to be seen. Meanwhile, John needs to get that target off of his back fast. Tadhana needs to win STAT.
