Last night's episode of The Bachelorette should've been the finale. Set on the romantic island of Antigua, Desiree was supposed to spend a romantic overnight date with each of the three remaining men, then get her proposal by the end of the night. For weeks now, she's been waiting for the finish line so that she could live happily ever after with Brooks. Instead, she was blindsided and dumped while at home watching for the first time, Chris and Drew suddenly realized what they had with Des wasn't nearly enough.

Before heading to Antigua, Brooks met with his mom and sister to try to figure out what was missing from his relationship with Desiree. What was missing is that he's not in love with her so he made the journey to sit down with Chris Harrison and sort it all out. After much hemming and hawing, Brooks finally admits to Chris that he doesn't see a future so there's nothing left to do but talk to Desiree.

As soon as they meet up, she can see that something is wrong so the two head to a nearby bench to sit down and hash it out. Hashing it out, it turns out, is a lot tougher than you might imagine because Brooks is having a hard time expressing himself. It's a lot of "You have so many things that I love, um, but... ah... it's just that... you... I don't see..." and so forth. When Desiree finally realizes what he's saying, she completely breaks down, saying that she loved him and was planning on choosing him in the end.

Now, Brooks has no idea what to do. She loves him?! He won?! Suddenly, he can't pull himself away after saying, not minutes ago, that his feelings dwindle every time they're apart. While he rides back to the airport, she sits by the water, crying hysterically. Now don't get me wrong, I feel horrible for her, but isn't she about to do the same thing to Chris and Drew? Both of these guys are clearly in love with her, see a future with her, and have discussed these things with her. As I said on Twitter, the Bachelorettes almost always choose the wrong guy. Where are Trista Sutter and Ashley Rosenbaum when you need them!?
