Ghost Hunters Season 9: Episode 11 Recap

Story By: Chad Alan

"Hoover Damned"

Boulder City Hospital - Boulder City, Nevada

Built solely to house the injured construction workers who created the Hoover Dam, the Boulder City Hospital is now being used as a local outreach center for the community.  Here's the problem, it's being haunted by the ghosts of the 100 or so men who died while working on the Dam from 1931-1936, according to the staff and visitors.  These men died from equipment accidents, rock slides, and disease...none of these was pleasant ways to leave the earth.  The staff is actually very concerned for their safety as they do not believe the spirits come in peace.  They hear terrible moaning, sounds of agony, and footsteps come from empty rooms and floors.  People are being touched in the night while sleeping and a "whistling man" roams the halls.  Shadow figures and apparitions have been seen, including orbs of light that seem to gravitate to the hospital from the surrounding area.  The basement held the crematorium and morgue so be sure to ask for one of the rooms on that level if you happen to be stopping by the town.

TAPS co-founder Jason Hawes and Steve Gonsalves started their investigation on the first floor where reports of moaning and shadow figures have the staff at wits end.  It wasn't long before they headed down to the basement, which is considered to be the most paranormal spot in the hospital.  As they were moving from room to room, a voice came through their radio, but no one on the team had tried to communicate with them.  When the audio was reviewed, it sounded like a female voice, but just too hard to figure out what was being said.

Britt Griffith and Michelle Tate walked around the grounds of the hospital trying to catch the orbs of light frequently seen.  As they called out for those who may not have crossed into the light, they began experiencing light anomalies that they could not track down to an actual source.  They headed to the basement and loaded the area up with their equipment to track shadows and energy level changes but what got their attention was footsteps coming from the floor above them...too bad nobody was there.  The shuffling of feet continued all around them.  They went into the boiler room, which used to be the morgue, and their EMF detectors started registering high energy levels and then the battery was drained, followed by one of their camera's, a common occurrence when spirits are trying to manifest themselves.

Amy Bruni and Adam Berry headed to the spot where Steve and Jason encountered that voice that came through the radio.  Not only did they hear a voice talking but a shadow figured greeted them in the distance. They tried their best to debunk the paranormal shadow but they had no explanation.

Dave Tango had a very interesting experience in one of the stairwells where shadow figures are seen.  Sounds of footsteps seemed to be all around him and this was audio to the viewers.  Nobody else was around him at the time.  The noises continued and one of the doors around him opened by itself and there was not a window open or a draft in the area that could have pried the door open.  Steve escorted Dave to a room where a young girl saw an apparition hover over her in the middle of the night, touching her toes to wake her up.  Just outside the door of this room, there were heavy sounds of movement and the faint voices of people talking that was very audible to the viewers.

When the team reviewed their video and audio footage, most if not all of their personal experiences were recorded and still left them speechless.  They did not feel that there were any evil spirits and gave the Boulder City Hospital a clean bill of health.  I know, that was cheesy.  Summer finale is next Wednesday so be sure to set your DVR accordingly.
