Last night on The Bachelorette, just before the rose ceremony, Chris Harrison sat down with Desiree Hartsock to find out where she was at in her journey to find love. He was surprised to find out that she felt she was already at the finish line with Brooks Forester. During her one-on-one with him on the island of Madeira, she expressed (in a roundabout way) that she was falling in love with him. His reaction initially indicated that he felt the same way but alone with the cameras, he admitted that he wasn't quite on the same page as her.

Meanwhile, Desiree has great guys left in Chris, Zak, and Drew. Chris is loving and writes poetry, Zak is overly enthusiastic about a life with her, and Drew has remained loyal and looked out for her best interest all season. Unfortunately, Michael was sent home at the end of the night, heartbroken, and was able to call his mother from the limo for some comfort... which I didn't know you could do. Hey, it made for a good moment though ("Why does this keep happening???").

Back to Brooks, though. He seemed so sincere and so sure about Desiree, until she revealed how serous her feelings were. Suddenly, he's backpedaling and questioning where he's really at, but has yet to show any signs of wavering to her. Now that she's admitted that he's basically the one to all of America, how does that affect things if she happens to choose someone else in the end? "Oh, so you fell in love with me when? After Brooks told you he wasn't feeling the same way?"

Whether or not things will end between the pair remains to be seen, but I have had a sneaking suspicious since before the season started that Desiree doesn't find the happy ending she's hoping for. In a conference call prior to the premiere, she didn't seem as enthusiastic as past Bachelors and Bachelorettes. We're just a few weeks away from finding out the end to this rollercoaster of a journey.  While you debate what's going to happen with Brooks, keep in mind that he's a part-time model.  Just saying...

The Bachelorette airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
