Big Brother 15: Week 1 Nominations Recap

Elissa Slater of Big Brother 15

How Elissa thought she was going to survive in the Big Brother house for longer than a day or two without people figuring out she's Rachel Reilly's sister is beyond me. Judd (surprisingly) was the first to put two and two together, but it didn't take long for the others to make the connection as well. A houseguest who hides something is an easy target for nomination, and you better believe people made it known to McCrae that he should put her on the block. With three nominations each week, instead of two, the HOH's job has gotten a lot more complicated this season.

Before we get to that, can we pause for a minute to discuss Jessie? It was bad enough when she kept calling herself the prettiest girl in the house on the premiere. Now, she's found herself in a Twilight-esque love triangle with two unsuspecting competitors, Nick and Jeremy. I assume Nick is Edward in this scenario, while Jeremy is Jacob. Poor Bella can't decide which one she actually likes, while Amanda is stuck in a bathroom with her wondering how she got sucked into this conversation. Jessie lacks a social awareness that is definitely going to be an issue for her.

In the first Have/Have Not competition of the season, the houseguests are split into three teams: Red, Blue, and Yellow. Paddling across a small pool in an inner tube, they must dive into some freezing cold water to grab a soda can, paddle back, and balance it on a board being held up by the other team members. With Howard leading things off for the red team, things looked good... until he hit the water. Paddling in circle, flailing about, what is going on?! It doesn't help that Judd isn't any better, and the red team ends up in last, with the blue team taking first place.

Nominations are quickly approaching so let the strategies and scrambling begin! Nick approaches McCrae about joining an alliance with him, Howard, Spencer, and Jeremy. Elissa reveals her family secret, while Jessie, Aaryn, and David gun to get her out. Helen's name is thrown around by players, as well as David's and Candice's, but McCrae has to do what's best for his own game.

In the end, he chooses to nominate Jessie and Candice, since they seem to be the least liked people in the house. Any guesses on who will be named the first BB MVP of the season? My guess is Nick, who is playing the game hard and formed an alliance that could do some serious damage this season if they stay loyal.
