"Vintage Spirits"

Belvoir Winery - Liberty, Missouri

There are four buildings on the property considered to be the "Belvoir Winery."  Over the last century one building served as a hospital, another as an orphanage, the third as a Nursing home and morgue, and finally the last was considered an "Old folks home."  The new owner of the property is looking to renovate 3 of the 4 buildings and enhance the winery while adding a retirement community into the mix.  Retirees getting drunk all day running a business? Sounds like a new reality show.  It is said that over 10,000 people have died on the property over the years and you have to believe that there are many unsettled spirits who have failed to cross over into the light.  Renovations always seem to bring out paranormal activity and the new owner is concerned that this will hurt his business, especially after he demolishes the nursing home and morgue, which tends to have the highest amount of strange happenings occurring. People have reported hearing piano music, footsteps coming from empty rooms, children playing and giggling, seeing shadows and having their clothes tugged on.  Others have had their personal items moved and felt heavy uneasy feelings come over them.  We can only hope the Ghost Hunters can experience some of the same phenomenon.

TAPS co-founder Jason Hawes and Steve Gonsalves started their investigation in the nursing home/morgue.  The building has been forgotten in time and that is why it's going to be knocked down.  They were constantly trying to track down noises around them, some of them loud bangs, others sounding like footsteps or something moving in the distance.  These were exactly the same type of things that have been reported by the construction workers and anytime the team can back up these reports, it's a win.

Michelle Tate and Britt Griffith headed to the orphanage and set up a bunch of toys around the building hoping to gain the attention of the child spirits still stuck in the building.  They started their EVP session by asking "are the people next door going to get mad if the building is knocked down?"  Their equipment lit up like a Christmas tree and when they asked the question again, the same thing happened.  Mind you, only after they had asked the questions, had the equipment gone off.  This was not a false positive.  Something was there trying to communicate with them.

Amy Bruni and Adam Berry headed to the "Old Folks Home" which was an absolute mess and the air so dirty they wore masks while investigating.  A shadow figure and something that sounded like the dragging of a piece of metal got their attention but nothing more followed this activity.  Michelle and Britt had some significant readings coming from their energy detectors and motion sensors while they were investigating the building so two separate teams were experiencing paranormal activity.  Amy and Adam headed over to the Nursing home building and Adam had his back touched which was followed by a whistling noise.  The next stop for them was the Winery building, which is the only building that has been rehabbed.  They did experience hearing a piano being played, and considering there are two pianos in the building, somebody or something, was taking a little practice time.  This experience was caught on their recording equipment.

When the team reviewed their video and audio recorders after the investigation, they did get more than a few of their personal experiences on the record.  They didn't come out and call the Belvoir winery "haunted" but they were impressed with the paranormal activity they experienced.
