Gina Marie and Andy enter the Big Brother 15 house

by Gina Scarpa

A new season of Big Brother kicked off last night complete with wild houseguests ready to battle for the $250,000 grand prize and, of course, lots of twists! Among the competitors are: a pageant queen, a pizza delivery boy, a mother of two, a guy who lives on a boat, and even Rachel Reilly's sister. If you close your eyes when Elissa talks, it's as if you're listening to Rachel yet again in the Diary Room. You can take your pick if that's a good or a bad thing.

Once beds and rooms are claimed, it doesn't take long before some people start forming early alliances. In one room, Howard, Jeremy, and Spencer team up but Jeremy already shows signs of paranoia, asking repeatedly if they're going to turn on him. They just met you! In another room, Jeremy is pulled into an alliance of self-proclaimed good looking people, including Jessie and David. Jessie is mistakenly convinced she's the best looking girl in the house, while David can barely string a cohesive thought together. Run, Jeremy!

Julie gathers the houseguests into the living room to tell them the first twist of the season. Each week, instead of there being two nominees for eviction, there will be three. That definitely throws a wrench in everyone's game. This year, a Head of Household will nominate more than one person each week who doesn't end up leaving, increasing the target on their back.

Without much time to process what just happened, it's time for the first HOH competition and this one's called Popsicle Factory. Players hung out to a giant popsicle as they were licked by a giant tongue and sprayed by cold water. A few dropped early so that they wouldn't be identified as a strong physical player while others dropped just because they couldn't hang out. Aaryn, the Texas beauty, was the last girl standing, showing she's not one to be underestimated. McCrae, who everyone believes is lying about his profession as a pizza delivery boy is the last one standing after striking a deal with Nick, who seems like a DGIT (Dan Gheesling In Training).

Everyone gathers back in the living room to learn how the third nominee will be chosen each week. America will vote for a Big Brother MVP, who can cast an anonymous vote for the third houseguest to be nominated for eviction. No one will know who the MVP is, which should increase the paranois level in the house by about 2000%. This is not a season for floaters so anyone who was planning on flying under the radar is in big trouble!
