After surviving grueling solo, group, and choreography rounds, the remaining 40 contestants on So You Think You Can Dance are ready to be narrowed down to the Top 20. Sitting on the final panel in Vegas were Nigel, Mary, tWitch, Mia, and Adam. There were some tough cuts along the way, especially for tapper Aaron Turner and jazz/contemporary dancer Megan Branch, both of whom were sent home during this very stage in the past. Ballroom dancer Gene Bersten was particularly hard for Mary to let go of, especially since his younger brother Alan made it through.

It's no surprise that an injury has already claimed one dancer from the competition as that seems to be the case every season in recent memory. This year, it was Phillip Chbeeb's protege, Emilo "Millie" Dosal, which opened the door for Aaron to grab a spot on the show. It just goes to show that the universe works in mysterious ways and you never know what's going to happen!

Hip-Hop: Du-Shaunt 'Fik-Shun' Stegall, Mariah Spears
Contemporary: Mackenzie Dustman, Jasmine Harper, Nico Greetham, Tucker Knox
Tappers: Curtis Holland, Aaron Turner, Alexis Juliano
Animators: Dorian 'BluPrint' Hector, Jade Zuberi
Contemporary: Carlos Garland, Hayley Erbert, Malece Miller
Ballroom: Brittany Cherry, Jenna Johnson, Paul Karmiryan, Alan Bersten
Jazz: Amy Yakima, Jasmine Mason

Each group performed a routine, introducing them fully to America, and one was better than the next. Standouts throughout the night included Mackenzie Dustman, Alexis Juliano, Jade Zuberi, Hayley Erbert, Malece Miller, Jenna Johnson, Amy Yakima, and Jasmine Mason. Though it's all going to come down to partners, styles, and choreographers to determine who ends up in the bottom first, I have a feeling Aaron Turner and the ballroom boys may be in trouble early on.

Speaking of the guys, they absolutely KILLED IT in a Christopher Scott routine about men who could manipulate Earth, using sand as their prop. The girls were equally impressive in a Ray Leeper jazz routine, though if I never hear the phrase "Let's have a kiki" again, it won't be too soon.
