Holly Tucker of The Voice Season 4

When Holly Tucker finished her rendition of Adele's "Make You Feel My Love" for the blind auditions on The Voice this season, the coaches could barely contain themselves. Each one fought passionately to have her on their team, but the country singer wisely went with Blake Shelton as her mentor. Holly made it all the way to the Top 6 before being eliminated on last week's live results show. She's convinced that this is just the beginning though, and talked with us about that as well as her journey on The Voice in our exclusive interview with her.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What was going on with you, musically, before The Voice and what motivated you to audition?
A. Holly: Before The Voice, I was really realizing that this is my dream and I've been going after it for a long time. I started singing when I was 3, on stage since I was 7, and recording music since I was 14 so this has been a lifelong process for me. I've always had this feeling in my heart that this is what I wanted to do and that this is right. I've been auditioning for American Idol, America's Got Talent, The X Factor, and The Voice. When they had open auditions for The Voice this season in Dallas, I thought, "What the heck?" and it happened to work out for me this time!

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: To have all four coaches turn around for you during your blind audition must have been so amazing. Was the decision to choose Blake an easy one though?
A. Holly: I mean, I always had Blake in the forefront of my mind but I told myself before I went out there to keep an open mind. I did that and I really liked what all of them had to say so it was a very tough decision for me in the moment. There were a few times that I almost went with Adam because he was fighting so hard for me. There's a lot they don't show on tv and they spent like, 25 minutes arguing why I should be on their team. In the end, my gut was telling me to go with Blake. I knew he would know what's right for me in the country world.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Country singers are doing so well this season. Do you attribute that to Blake's coaching and choices?
A. Holly: I think for sure it is. He's always been choosing country songs for us. He hasn't had us venture out into the world of rock or pop unless it was our own will.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: That being said, do you feel like the fact that there were so many country artists advancing hurt you at all?
A. Holly: That may have been a factor, and the fact that there were three female country artists from Texas. I just think I made it here for a reason.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You did say that you weren't surprised at your elimination last week but was it still hard for you to leave?
A. Holly: I was sad to leave my coaches and teammates and I was down about it. In the end, I knew this was a jump start for my career. I consider myself very blessed and I can't be anything but grateful.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Following your elimination, Blake went off on a critic who took a shot at you on Twitter. As if we didn't already know how much he cares about his team members, but what was your reaction to him defending you?
A. Holly: I was a little surprised! I know that's his kind of personality that he doesn't take crap from anyone, but I just didn't know that he would stand up for me like that once I was off the show. Just to see that really made me feel really good about it. He didn't have to do that. He really chose to stand up for me and to defend me. That shows me that he cares and is genuine.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What are you hoping The Voice has done for your music career? Have you given any thought to future plans yet?
A. Holly: I already know that The Voice has given me a great platform to reach a lot of people. I was able to do that on the show and my fan base grew exponentially. I'm singing as much as possible and getting my name out there. Hopefully, people won't forget about me. I'm going to be going to Nashville this summer to talk to some record labels. You gotta just jump on it and go all in.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Who are you throwing your support behind to win Season 4?
A. Holly: You know, I'm biased a little bit because of Blake. I'm kind of hoping for The Swon Brothers. Danielle and Michelle have done really well on the iTunes chart. I love everyone and I'm rooting for everybody!
