The pressure is on this week for Team Shakira and Team Usher since they only have one remaining team member. If their remaining contestant is sent home on Tuesday, they're out of the competition. I love how the performances get bigger and better as the show advances and we start seeing effects, props, and more! Here is a summary of every performance from the Top 8:
Judith - Team Adam
Judith must have liked the feedback she got from her uptempo performance last week because she chose a Will.i.am feat Justin Bieber club banger for this week's show! Performing #thatPOWER, Judith came out of her comfort zone once again and proved why she is a keeper in this competition. I want her to win, but she's going to get a record deal no matter what, so it almost doesn't matter.
Holly - Team Blake
Blake was looking for her to showcase her southern attitude with the song "Done" by The Band Perry. Since her personality is so sweet and innocent, she thought she would have a bit of trouble navigating the sassiness that this song requires. Well, she was sure angry at someone tonight! She managed to pour a lot of passion into the cheeky breakup anthem. Blake's exact feedback to her was that she "chewed the song up and spit it out". Go Holly!
The Swan Brothers - Team Blake
They are the first duo in The Voice history to make it this far. Tonight, they were out to prove they had more staying power and chose to perform Seven Bridge's Road for their home state of Oklahoma, who is still recovering from the monster tornado. It's awesome how they can harmonize so well it's almost like they're one person - they did a great job!
Sasha - Team Shakira
Shakira may be her coach, but this week she performed an Usher song for her fiancé, who she misses very much. She chose "Without You", the perfect song for missing someone and competing at the same time. After her amazing performance, Adam was kicking himself for letting her go.
Sarah - Team Adam
Adam chose Goyte's "Somebody That I Used To Know" for Sarah, which hit home pretty hard for her. She had a huge task on her hands - this breakup song was a smash hit, so she had to do it justice - and she did. Adam told her that although the song had been performed before on the show, no one ever did it right until tonight.
Michelle - Team Usher
She chose to sing Bruno Mars mega song "Grenade" to showcase a different side of her. She performed the song with such a light melody it was almost A cappella, and proved once again, why she deserves to win this competition.
Danielle - Team Blake
Blake gave her a song that was very special to him for her performance this week. He chose "Grandpa" by the Judds and she did such a good job. I still can't believe she doesn't have any prior performing experience and that she's so young!
Amber - Team Adam
Adam gave her a challenge this week. She chose "Skyfall" by Adele which is tough for two reasons - it's an Adele song, and a theme song from a popular, recent movie. I usually hate when contestants on singing shows perform Adele because, let's just face it, she's awesome. Honestly, it wasn't better than Adele, but she held her own and did an AWESOME job!
