Roller derby teammates, friends, and moms Mona Egender and Beth Bandimere proved just how tough they are this season on The Amazing Race. Through tough tasks, trouble with navigation, and being targeted by other teams, the pair made it all the way to the final leg. They checked in third at the finish line on Sunday night's finale and could not be prouder of how they ran the race. We talked to Mona and Beth today about handling stress, the teams they were close with, and what it felt like to reach the finish line.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What did you do on finale night to celebrate the end of the season?

A. Beth: We rented a theater in SoHo and we had a private screening with our family and friends. We went to TARcon, and we went out with our family and friends.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You both talked about being moms and getting this opportunity to do something for yourselves. How would you sum up the experience of running The Amazing Race?

A. Beth: Mona and I, the whole time we were running the race, kept looking at each other and marveling at the fact that CBS found us interesting enough to put us on television. It was such a gift, oh my gosh! We were so grateful! Talk about a dream season, all the amazing countries we got to visit!

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: How did the two of you handle the more stressful aspects of the race?

A. Mona: We play in a lot of stressful, roller derby matches. Being moms, we understand you can't give up and you gotta push through. We knew we could finish anything if we put our minds to it.

A. Beth: We're really high stress situations. Even when one of us was getting snippy with the other, we totally know how to talk each other off the ledge. We play roller derby. People slam into us!

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Which teams were you closest with and worked the best with?

A. Mona: We were in an alliance with Joey and Meghan, and John and Jess. We agreed that we would help each other out. Speaking in terms of everyone, we had a great relationship with everyone. We truly got along with everyone.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What was the reaction been like of your friends and family?

A. Mona: Our family and friends have been awesome and so supportive. Just cheering us on, regardless of how we did, they've been great. They say that we're never driving anywhere though!

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: I take it you'd say navigation was the toughest part of the race for you both.

A. Beth: Yes, absolutely! Mona and I have never been out of the country before. Not only are we dealing with being places we've never been, there's currency exchange, and we felt like such newbies. Definitely directions, obviously, was our weakest

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: How do you feel you did in the last leg?

A. Mona: You know, the challenges were not so much difficult as random. When we went to the Tidal Basin, it was just a matter of luck. The baseball challenge in that stadium was just ridiculous! For the globe challenge, we knew what we were looking for, it was just finding it. There was an element of luck there.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Not many teams can say they've reached the finish line. Can you describe that moment?

A. Beth: To run up and hear all of our castmates cheering for us and seeing all their faces, to run up on that mat... if you had told us a couple years ago that we would be in that place at that time, we wouldn't have believed it. Not a lot of all female teams can say they've done it. We ran the race with integrity and we're proud.
