The Bikal tribe on Survivor Caramoan

by Gina Scarpa

Now that Matt is off the Bikal tribe, only two Survivor fans remain causing Julia to become increasingly closer to wetting herself. She doesn't want to leave (I guess) but she's not exactly fighting to stay in the game. She's taking the under the radar strategy to new levels. Meanwhile, Michael tries to shake off losing his biggest ally and works to show the fans that he can be trusted. At least he's got Corinne on his side, who seems to want him around for no other reason than the fact that he's gay. Can you trust him? Is he good in challenges? Can you beat him in the end? Those would be better things to ask yourself instead of, can he be my new gay best friend?

Phillip is feeling pretty confident going into the reward challenge, especially since the tree mail mentioned the strong carrying the weak. And I'll give it to Phillip, he has performed well in most challenges, but let's not act like you're Matt Elrod (who won 10 challenges in a row on Redemption Island). Much to the Special Agent's disappointment, this classic Survivor challenge asks players to tether themselves together, carry weights, and run around in a pool of water, trying to catch one another. Hmm, wonder who's gonna win this one! Almost immediately Phillip starts complaining that he can't run, even though he insisted on being at the front of the pack. It's Michael who tries to push Bikal forward, but Dawn drops out, Phillip falls, and Gota easily catches them. The Land of Beautiful People win a trip to a coffee bar or, as Dawn calls it, a trip to Diarrhea Fest. For the record, not a festival I want to attend.

After a lotta bit too much caffeine, Malcolm seals up his alliance with Reynold, who reveals that he has the idol. While I understand his revelation to try to earn some trust, it seems like a move that's going to backfire in the fairly near future. Lucky for him, he's on the superhuman tribe that can't lose a challenge, including this next one for immunity. Players take a boat out to retrieve a heavy statue, place it on a stand back at shore, while one person throws a grappling hook to bring in keys that will unlock the tower to hoist the statue up onto. Reynold and Phillip go head to head with the hooks but there is just no stopping Gota right now and they're able to keep their numbers intact for another week.

Back at Bikal, Phillip has a revelation of his own for Cochran. He didn't want to win, okay? He threw it so he could get rid of someone on his tribe... because nothing makes sense like going into a merge with a successful, winning tribe with as few tribe members as possible. Corinne goes all out to keep Michael safe and gets some help from Dawn, who lets Phillip know that Julia can't be trusted. At tribal council, the votes were split between the fans but when the favorites went to revote, they sent Vanilla Julia on her way. Something tells me that's not a name she wants to stick. Merge next week! Who's going to be target number one?
