Eddie and Reynold of Survivor Caramoan

When you've been spared at tribal council on Survivor, the best thing to do is lay low and keep quiet. Unfortunately, fan Shamar didn't get the memo... or watch previous seasons... or listen to his tribemates who tried to keep him calm. No, after Allie was sent home, he unleashed on everyone in the tribe, whether they were with him or against him. I really had high hopes for him in the game, but he doesn't want to play nice or apparently, play at all.

Sick of everyone ganging up on him, Shamar has decided to quit. Sort of. He's been through a lot during his two tours in Iraq, things that made him angry, turn to alcohol, and other destructive behaviors. He's worked hard to get himself to a good place and this game is pushing him to behave in a way he doesn't want to. You have to respect that he's able to see that in himself but I can't respect anyone who quits the game of Survivor, unless they have a serious medical reason to. Sherri is able to talk him off the ledge, and convince him to stay at least through the next challenge so they don't possibly end up two players down if they lose.

Over at Bikal, Andrea has turned her attention towards getting rid of Corinne, who has become very tight with Malcolm. The pair, unbeknownst to the rest of their tribe, have found the hidden immunity idol but just like last season, it looks like Malcolm is in charge of it. Andrea and Cochran bring Brandon in on the plan to get rid of Corinne. That's just fine, in Brandon's mind, so long as it's him. And if it is him? He's going to pee in the rice and burn the shelter down. Is it bad that I'm kind of curious to see if he'd actually do it?

This week's reward/immunity challenge was one of the most exciting and interesting ones Survivor has done in quite a long time. The tribes swam out to cage, which they had to climb over and then unlock a door underwater in order to escape. From there, they moved a very heavy trunk back to shore, place it on a track, and then use a grappling hook to pull other sections of the track to them in order to reach the finish line. The fans grab an early lead, but Laura slows them down with her terrible swimming. Once again, Malcolm and Reynold find themselves facing off to toss an item in challenge but it comes down to Eddie vs. Brandon for the win. Brandon is able to grab the last piece of track and the favorites are spared from any threats of fire or urination back at their camp.

Worried that Reynold will use the idol, the fans devise a plan to split the votes between Hope and Eddie. Since Hope, Eddie, and Reynold will vote for Shamar, it'll come down to a three way tie. Then, they can vote Hope out, because honestly, they need the two guys to help them in challenges. Shamar, once again, should just keep quiet but he can't. He runs to Hope to tell her the plan, in the hopes that she'll turn on Eddie and avoid a tie. Hope tells the others, who now question whether or not they can trust Shamar and Laura devises a plan with Reynold to blindside him.

At tribal council, Jeff makes it a point to highlight that Shamar has had beef with just about everybody in the tribe. Still, the votes go just as the majority planned. With a tie between Hope, Eddie, and Shamar, the tribe votes again with those three not being able to participate. Oh, that hurts Reynold, doesn't it? Hope is voted out and I really believe Shamar was trying to warn her and have her make a move for the good of her own game. Too bad she didn't want to listen...
