Last week on The Biggest Loser, the contestants were given a challenge - lose 51 pounds at the weigh in and everyone would be safe from elimination. Unfortunately for the group, it quickly became apparent as each person stepped on the scale that it wasn't going to happen. Francelina, known for her positive attitude and strong work ethic in the gym, fell below the red line and was automatically eliminated, much to the trainers' dismay. We caught up with Francelina to find out about her weight loss journey before The Biggest Loser and how life has changed since.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Before coming on the show, you were losing weight but what made you decide you needed The Biggest Loser?
A. Francelina: You know, prior, I thought that I could do it on my own. That's how I lost 100 lbs before the show. I'm very committed and determined. When I have something in mind, I usually get it. I couldn't lose any more weight. One night, I saw the show and was like, "I'm going to do this."

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: How did you feel about the trainer being chosen for you instead of the other way around?
A. Francelina: Honestly, I loved Dolvett! Some of the things he had said in the past about being a fighter his whole life, I could relate to that. I got along with him so well. He tells me to do a ton of things that's like, "Dolvett, that's impossible," and then after, you're like, "I can't believe I did that."

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: The trainers are always stressing that you have to fix the inside before you can fix the outside. Did you find that to be true while on the ranch?
A. Francelina: I couldn't agree more. Coming in to the ranch, I thought that my issue with my plateau was physical. I realized it was emotional baggage that I was carrying.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: When the game went down to singles and you had the chance to work with Bob and Jillian, how were those workouts for you?
A. Francelina: Working with Bob and Jillian was awesome. I think that's when I realized, "Wow, I am really capable of anything." Watching the other contestants with Jillian, they were dropping like flies. I could keep up with her workouts and she was complimenting me. I was like, "Wow, I have come so far physically," but I don't think I would've been able to do that without addressing the emotional baggage.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: The trainers had nothing but positive things to say about you. Why do you think they had such a high opinion?
A. Francelina: You know, the trainers did have such a high opinion of me and I was actually shocked at how high. I never complained. I never forgot what I was there for and I was positive about it. I tried my hardest every single time. I was struggling with the rest of them, but I never complained. When I got accepted to the show, I made a commitment and not once did I say, "Well, this is too hard." I tried every single time. I was pretty much the biggest girl that was left and I think they saw how hard I was working.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: It became really clear during the weigh-in that the group wasn't going to meet their weight loss goal and then you fell below the red line. Would you have preferred a yellow line so that you could make a case for yourself?
A. Francelina: I think that it definitely caught me off guard to lose 2 pounds and then fall below the red line. In any other case, I probably would've preferred a yellow line because I would've at least had a chance. Honestly though, I felt I was ready. I didn't wanna take that chance away from anyone else. Like Dolvett said during the weigh in, I got it. I think I had the tools in place to be able to do this at home.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: How is your journey towards getting healthy different since you've been on The Biggest Loser?
A. Francelina: I had lost weight before the show but I was very systematic about it. It was like, "Okay you eat less calories, work out more, and you can lose the weight." I wasn't addressing the emotional part. Once I was able to address why I gained the weight to begin with, the weight started coming off and I was keeping it off. I didn't have that anxiety and that relationship with food.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: How are things going for you at home right now?
A. Francelina: Right now, I'm working super hard. I am 100% in love with fitness now. I don't worry too much about the scale, I worry about getting a good workout. I'm doing great and I'm happy!
