Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 5 Episode 15 Cynthia

by Jessica Blackwell

This episode was one of massive failures and great accomplishments. While one housewife managed to flawlessly execute a project, another struggled with hers, and one may have to reconsider some life choices.

Since Kenya was issued a clean bill of health after her health scare, she seems to be dedicated to being a kinder person.  Kenya brought a beautiful young woman to Cynthia's agency because she was interested in modeling and she also offered to judge the pageant.  Although Kenya has burned Cynthia before, it makes sense for Kenya to participate since she holds a pretty coveted title.

Cynthia was excited that she was able to land Boris Kodjoe, in all his fine glory, to host the pageant, but unfortunately she didn't she didn't tell him what he should wear. He showed up in jeans and a t-shirt instead of the suit that he should have worn. Compared to the rest of the problems, after all was said and done, it wasn't bad as the rest. Here's the rundown:

First, they decided to rehearse the script like 5 minutes before the pageant began. Literally. And everything was out of order. When they stepped on the stage, one of the microphones didn't work. The scripts weren't the only thing that were out of order, the names were too, and Boris constantly announced the wrong girls. Despite the many mishaps, Cynthia accomplished what she set out to do: empower young women. A beautiful girl was crowned Miss Renaissance and Cynthia can now officially claim that she is in the business of pageantry. Even Kenya offered some kind words and didn't bash her, but just suggested that she'll learn from the experience since this is her first pageant. I would just make one suggestion Cynthia - a dress rehearsal!

Kordell continued to show his true colors as a controlling husband. Porsha asked him how she's been doing juggling her charity work and he told her he would like her home more. It's a part time job! I think the man wants her chained to their bed!  Then when she told him she wanted a nanny when they have children, he told her she wasn't ready to have children. Like she said, a lot of rich women have them. Porsha said she was attracted to him for his traditional values, so I guess you get what you wish for??

Despite Jayden's less than favorable reaction to her the last time they were together, Porsha still took her niece for the day to see if she could handle being a mom. Well, she couldn't. First she let her dog watch the baby, then she had to enlist help just to take her to Cynthia's pageant! I think she needs to rethink having twins and stop eating them yams! In all fairness, it's not like her baby will come out of the womb running around, so I'm sure she will get it together by then.

Kandi is catching a lot of shade for owning a sex toy business and radio talk show, and  simultaneously producing gospel music with Marvin Sapp. I understand why that may have some people's feathers all ruffled up, but the fact of the matter is, she comes from a very religious background. Despite her less than close relationship with her father, she invited him to the studio when she collaborated with Marvin. He got very emotional as he heard her testimony in the form of a song. Marvin connected with the song as well, since he dealt with the loss of his wife not too long ago, he and Kandi shared a bond. I added the song to my playlist and it's on repeat!

After all their hard work, the ladies deserve a little vacation, so they're headed out to LA to visit Nene in all her Hollywood fabulousness. Stay tuned for all the drama that's sure to follow!
