Pam and Jillian of The Biggest Loser Challenge America

by Gina Scarpa

Their time on The Biggest Loser ranch had barely begun and already, the white team suffered major setbacks. First, Nikki decided that she wasn't ready to change and quit the competition. Then, they lost the weigh-in and TC was eliminated after falling below the red line. Alison meets with the contestants the next day to tell them that the dreaded red line has returned. It's not all bad news though... well, depending on how you look at it. For the first time on The Biggest Loser, the trainers have designed their our own outdoor gym. Based on Dolvett's name he bestowed upon his, Dolvett's Dungeon, this seems like it's not going to be a walk in the park.

With everyone worried about going home, the focus isn't completely on working out and losing weight. When Jeff breaks down, Bob is able to get him refocused, but Jillian has a much tougher time with Danni and Pam. The two women were strong in their first week, while the others on their team fell apart, and now they can't seem to handle things. When Danni sits down on the ground to get looked at by the medical staff, Jillian dumps a bucket of water on her and when Pam refuses to move her body, she screams "What is it?!" over and over until she gets an answer. It turns out Pam is afraid of failure... but she's failing right now... so it doesn't make sense.

Everyone meets with Dr. H for the medical evaluation that usually ends up scaring the heck out of them. From diabetes to fatty livers to the arteries of someone in their 70s, his results and diagnoses bring many to tears, but hopefully is the reality check they need to take their health way more seriously.

For this week's challenge, Alison brings in NFL player Antonio Gates, of the San Diego Chargers. Sunny, Lindsay, and Biingo are back as well, along with students from High Desert School. In a four quarter relay race, whichever team finishes with the fastest time will win $5,000 for their kid's school along with a visit from their favorite NFL player. In both the 1st and 2nd quarter, Danni finishes first from the white team, which is impressive since Pam wasn't medically cleared so she had to go twice.

In the 3rd quarter, Jeff finished a strength challenge first and in the 4th, Joe (a former NFL player himself) was able to finish the equalizer ahead of his two competitors. It was the white team though, who finished with the fastest time overall. Man, it's bad enough to lose but to not be able to win something for the teen on your team must be an extra downer.

While the adults prepare for last chance workouts, the trainers take the kids to complete a Biggest Loser Fitness Test. Since the last competition, Biingo has fractured his foot playing basketball and cannot participate in most aspects of it, but it's clear overall that they're nowhere near where they need to be for sit-ups, pull-ups, the 1 mile run, and so on. It will be really interesting to see how far they've come when they retake this test later in the season.

Over to the scale, here are the numbers from the weigh-in.

Blue Team

David: -9

Gina: -7

Alex: -6

Michael: -14

Jeff: 0

TOTAL: -36 (2.35%)

Red Team

Cate: -5

Francelina: -6

Jackson: -4

Joe: -12

Lisa: -5

TOTAL: -32 (2.38%)

White Team

Pam: -8

Danni: -5

Nathan: -5

TOTAL: -18

It is just so unfortunate to see Jillian's team lose again but more so, to see Nathan leave. He was the only one who was completely committed and focused this week on that team and even Jillian can't help but shed some tears. She must know she's in deep, DEEP trouble with her team.

The Biggest Loser airs Mondays at 8/7c on NBC.
