The Real Housewives Of Atlanta Season 5

by Jessica Blackwell

This week on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, NeNe met Kenya for lunch to discuss the disastrous end to the Anguilla trip. Despite their clashing, NeNe still wanted to feel Kenya out to see if they could be friends. I would think NeNe would take notice to how Kenya is bumping heads with all the other housewives and use that as enough evidence to point to the contrary. However, NeNe gave Kenya her thoughts on the whole marriage debacle, and told her she felt she ran with the tiny hint of marriage and got let down hard. Although we all know that's what happened, Kenya insisted that Walter dropped other major hints, including asking for her ring size and her thoughts on where their children will go to school. It's a shame none of that was caught on camera....

Kenya let Walter know that she felt he led her on during the Anguilla trip. Walter, on the other hand, felt that she jumped the gun AGAIN and had no idea where her attitude came from. When he disputed leading her on, Kenya communicated that she thought Walter responded to her aggressively on the last day of the trip when she told him how she felt. Kenya has experienced an abusive relationship in the past, and felt that Walter was being sensitive to that when he was yelling at her. I just think the man was frustrated and who can blame him? She used the meeting as an opportunity to again pressure him by telling him he has to propose within 6 months! He made it very clear that although he loves her, he refuses to be pressured. He was honest, and said that he's not in love enough to marry her right now, at this present moment. Now that he has finally said it plain and clear, I hope she's not able to twist his words any longer. Does she really want a man to marry her because she pressured him?  She should want someone who made the decision on their own.

Since Phaedra's head is still filled with donkey booty dreams, she decided to give Kenya the opportunity to produce her and Apollo's workout tape. Kenya was definitely speaking Phaedra's language, and seemed to have some great ideas on how to market the product, but she was a bit miffed that Phaedra seemed a bit unprepared. Phaedra obviously had a theme for her project, but she didn't have a budget for it, or a name. Since eye-candy Apollo was in attendance, Kenya couldn't resist the opportunity to flirt. She gifted the couple with an autographed copy of her latest movie, the Confidant, and asked them if they ever role play in the bedroom. Then she had the nerve to tell Phaedra to step her game up when she found out the answer was no!  This time, Apollo had the good sense to look uncomfortable at her forwardness.

In addition to not being prepared, Phaedra and Apollo also seemed to be in disagreement over the length of the tape. Since Apollo is a personal trainer, he wanted the tape to feature a more strenuous workout, but Phaedra felt that most women want a light workout. They argued like children in front of Kenya, who cited it as unprofessional, but I'm sure she was secretly delighted.

At the tim the episode was taped, rumors starting flying on the blogosphere that Apollo and Phaedra were headed for divorce, most likely because of Kenya. Cynthia revealed that she heard Apollo frequents the strip club scene. Given the fact that we know he's been arrested before, combined with the strip club thing, it doesn't seem like he's good enough for our precious southern belle.

At a blessing for Kandi and Todd's new home, Phaedra gave a bit of insight into her marital trouble. She started complaining about Apollo, and I think she meant to be light-hearted, but it sounded like she just needed to vent. Then when meeting Peter and Cynthia at a local trashy gentlemen's club for some fun, Apollo also seemed to have word vomit. He started off on this rant that didn't make any sense, but basically amounted to the fact that he thinks Phaedra is boring. Phaedra tried to keep her attention on the terrible strippers, but Apollo just kept talking. Awkward..

The entire clan got together with Cynthia at Bar-One to celebrate the new wine she's endorsing, PT Moscato Walter came into the event, had shots with the guys, and hung out for ten minutes, all before greeting Kenya. Needless to say, Kenya wasn't happy about the snub, and she didn't even have five minutes before she was confronted by Porsha, who wanted to discuss the Anguilla trip. After dismissing Kordell, the ladies hashed it out. Kenya quickly dismissed Porsha, stating that although she would be cordial, she wouldn't be interested in a friendship. I actually thought it was polite, honest, and to the point. For once.

Phaedra and Apollo's marriage was front and center at the event since everyone had heard about the rumors. They both brushed it off despite the clear evidence that something was going on. Then they made the ultimate mistake that confirmed the marital strife to everyone. They shared a big, wet, sloppy public kiss, telling everyone they were attempting damage control. It just didn't seem real. I sure hope they get it all straightened out considering that it was just announced they are expecting their second child together.
