Josie and Bart of Top Chef Seattle

When you leave the contestants in the stew room for hours on Top Chef, they're bound to get into it with one another. It seemed as if Josie and Stefan were about to come to blows following Danyele's elimination but fortunately, the night came to an end and everyone was sent back to the house. Unfortunately, however, it seems these two are not done with each other yet!

Before the Quickfire the following morning, the cheftestants head to the shore, where they grab the freshest oysters there are. It's not as easy as it looks - Josie gets stuck in the mud and when Micah tries to help her, he tumbles in, leather coat and all. With bags in hand, they meet up with Emeril and Padma in the Top Chef kitchen and their Quickfire challenge is to make oysters on the half shell. Five chefs must make a hot dish, and five will prepare something cold.

After tasting the dishes, Emeril decided that Bart, Josie, and John were his least favorites of the day. On the other end of the spectrum, he really enjoyed Lizzie's oysters paired with currant juice. Micah's risky spices paid off, and Brooke's salsa verde on the oyster had beautiful flavors. After being confident and falling short in a few Quickfires, Micah finally gets a win and $5,000 to top it off.

For their Elimination challenge, Padma says they'll be cooking for one of Seattle's hottest teams. The Seahawks? The Mariners? Nope, a roller derby team, which is unexpected but still pretty cool. The cheftestants pair up and must create a dish based on the girls' names. With names like Jalapeño Business and Tempura Tantrum, there's definitely some inspiration there. To help them a little further, they attend the match that night in a packed arena.

You'd think it would turn into a fun night out for the group, but Josie has a few drinks and gets on people's nerves with her incessant chanting. On her way out, she knocked beer over and headed to lie down back at the house but hears people talking about her. Instead of going after Stefan for round two, she focuses on Micah instead, saying he's hiding in a closet. It's both unnecessary and irrelevant - go to bed, Josie!

The focus shifts to the food the next day in the kitchen. Josie and Bart have different ideas about what constitutes bold spices, and he worries it may be too strong. Stefan criticizes Micah's seemingly simple choice of a stuffed jalapeño, and opts for a much more complicated dish. Yes, the girls said they didn't want conventional food, but they didn't want something too high brow either.

At the tasting, Hugh feels that John and Brooke's flavors build and come across as bold, in a good way. Bart and Josie's dish is called unique, but not in the way they were probably hoping. The rice was overcooked, and Emeril thought the food was underseasoned. It turns out that Micah and Lizzie were right on with their jalapeño, with Hugh saying it was better than he thought it would be. I guess that's a compliment, right? Stefan and Kristen's imaginative dish of a chicken inside out may not sound appetizing, but the judges thought it was cooked well, with the exception of Tom, who said they could've taken it a little further. Josh and Sheldon serve their dish last, and it's a lot of fun, but the tempura failed and that's the most important part.

At Judges' Table, Padma reveals that Micah, Lizzie, John, and Brooke had the best dishes of the day. Hugh feels that the winning team was bold, adventurous, and really matched the feel of the roller derby team, and that pair is Brooke and John. It's not a huge round of applause for John, when he announces his victory, especially since he sends Josie, Bart, Josh, and Sheldon in to face elimination.

Josie tries to make excuses for the underseasoned dish, which causes Tom to go off about it because he's sick of explaining that to everyone. Emeril felt their dish was a mish mosh, but you have two really different chefs, and Hugh calls it a boring porridge. Josh and Sheldon say that they felt they were bold and risky, but Josh throws Sheldon's tempura under the bus and takes a shot at Micah and Lizzie's jalapeño dish. Of course, it doesn't help his case but he escapes elimination, as Bart is the one to pack his knives and go.
