The Real Housewives Of Atlanta Season 5

This week on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Greg is still working on wooing NeNe and his approach seemed to be irritating her at times. He keeps requesting a key to her place over and over, and at the same time, reminds her that he wants the key to her heart as well. He keeps making over the top public displays of affection, but according to NeNe, that's ok because he lost a few pounds, and he's looking all right. Getting down on his knees in the spa and kissing her feet is not all right with me! Barf!

Cynthia met up with NeNe is New York and was determined to show her some basic things about New York, like the subway, which NeNe initially refused to take. It was quite the experience for her and for the other subway riders who recognized her. After having a hot dog from a stand, NeNe felt like a real New Yorker!

Phaedra's husband Apollo recently got certified as a nutrition specialist and personal trainer. I noticed that he gave Phaedra the good news while he's dousing his comfort food with hot sauce and salt LOL! Apollo's certification will come in handy to Phaedra, who is creating what she calls a "donkey booty" workout tape, an exercise regimen where women can work out and still keep their curvy body. Phaedra dubs herself a dunkologist and says she was born certified.

We finally get to learn about the other new addition to the Atlanta group, and Porsha Stewart seems to have been born with  a silver spoon in her mouth. She is the granddaughter of Hosea Williams, who was a major component in the civil rights era, right along with Martin Luther King. She admits that she has always lived well, and that she is married to her dream husband, ex NFL footballer Cordell Stewart. She followed in her grandfather's footsteps as a humanitarian and takes pride in not having to work.

Porsha made her first appearance on the show meeting Kenya for lunch. Porsha asked her to attend her event for the Hosea Williams Foundation since she was the first black Miss USA. Knowing that there is drama brewing between the two, I was watching like a hawk trying to figure out where the first shots will be fired. At the lunch alone, Kenya ruefully told Porsha that the restaurant she chose had a "cafeteria vibe" and then Porsha pointedly asked Kenya if she was married, hitting a major sore spot for her. Then Porsha went even further, offering Kenya the information for a fertility specialist! Kenya was annoyed at all the personal questions because she viewed their meeting as business. I think ultimately Kenya's issue with Porsha will be that she's much younger than her, and seemingly less jaded by life, whereas Porsha is older, unmarried, without children and bitter. Just an observation..

While I do think Kenya is 10 shades of crazy, I gained a bit of insight as to why she is that way in this episode. Kenya, who was very put off by Porsha's personal questions, opened right up to Phaedra about her childhood. She revealed that her mother tried to give her up for adoption, and she was raised by her grandmother, who was cruel to her. Her mother never spoke to her or acknowledged her and even denies she ever had a child. So sad!

When Porsha's charity event rolled around for the Hosea Williams foundation, the drama started pretty quickly. Kenya was disappointed with the size of the event, declaring that she thought it was supposed to be one of the biggest events in the South. Porsha's husband made a surprise appearance, gifting her with a new Chanel clutch and making a big fuss about how beautiful his wife is. Kenya looked noticeably uncomfortable at all the attention Porsha was getting from her husband. When Porsha announced Kenya's presence to the crowd, she mistakenly called her Miss America instead of her correct title of former Miss USA.

Claiming she was cold, after Porsha took the mic and made her faux pas, Kenya made every excuse in the world to leave. She claimed she was waiting for her friend, but was actually trying to make a fast exit. Porsha came outside to let her know her dinner was served, and Kenya reamed into her about stating her title incorrectly and a cat fight followed. In the end, Porsha asked her to leave, but Kenya was halfway gone already.  In her interview, Kenya said that Porsha's identity rests on being the wife and granddaughter of famous men, whereas Kenya made a name for herself from nothing. I can see plenty more drama between these two in the season ahead.

Next week, we're in store for more moving drama for Kim and Phaedra (and her booty) seems to be involved in some contention as well!
