Big Brother 14: Week 9 Power of Veto Recap

Big Brother 14

Eviction night has come early this week on Big Brother, shocking the housemates. After everything they've been through this season, you think they'd learn to "expect the unexpected". With Ian in power, Shane (the pawn) and Jenn (the target) sit on the block waiting for their shot to win the veto. Danielle pulls Jenn aside to vent and try to figure out if Shane is playing her. Honestly, Danielle behaves like a girl in high school and Jenn has bigger things to worry about than sorting out whether or not her showmance is legit which, by the way, it's not.

In the veto competition, players swung back and forth between two platforms. On one platform was a magnetized puzzle board and on the other side was a button that kept the board magnetized, but ran out every 20 seconds. Turns out Ian was pretty terrible at it, but decided to coach Shane instead, helping him towards a victory. Just in case Jenn wasn't sure if she was definitely going, she's sure now.

Because Shane won the veto, he also gets a prize - a trip outside of the house with the player of his choice. Of course, he goes with Danielle and she can hear beautiful music as the object of her affection finally showed her a little validation. Shane smartly played the date card, holding doors for her, holding her hand, cuddling with her and she's eating it up big time. (Side note: If I were Dan, I'd be seriously worried.) It turns out that Shane and Danielle got to meet the U.S. Women's Olympics team and watch their live show. On the way home, they kissed in the limo and Shane asked to sleep in her bed. Looks like somebody is securing their final two spot, Chilltown style.

During the eviction ceremony, Jenn's speech made it clear that she knew she was leaving and by a 2-0 vote, she was. The best part of her chat was Julie was being presented with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, which she gobbled down without stopping for air. I would too if I was on slop all summer!

The next HOH competition is called "Photographic Memory" which is just cold to poor Ian, who has to sit by while the other three duke it out. A series of photos were placed in the house earlier in the week and Julie asked the players true or false questions about them. It was quite close but Danielle pulled out the victory, which was actually pretty stupid on her part. All summer, she's been trying to decide if her loyalty is with Dan or Shane. I think we're about to find out.

Everyone seems to think that signals Ian is out the door next but don't be too sure of that. It's not Danielle who's voting. It's whoever isn't sitting on the block Thursday night. Dan or Shane could take a swing at the other and if it's Dan at the plate, he won't miss this time.
