Big Brother 14: Week 8 Eviction Recap

Big Brother 14

Once again, Frank sits on the block, for the sixth time this season on Big Brother. He lost the veto competition to Dan, who pulled Jenn down, and Ian nominated Joe in her place. Some people say he's made a mistake trusting Dan but what else did you expect him to do? He had nobody else in the house and he had to at least try to make some headway with a couple of houseguests - but in the end, I suppose it didn't matter.

Julie announces to the houseguests that it's another double elimination week and my heart rate skyrockets as I worry for my beloved Ian! This seems like an opportunity for the Quack Pack to cut him loose if they wanted to. First to the matter at hand. Joe seems dressed like he's ready to meet America while Frank rocks his "Julie is my homegirl" t-shirt. Yet, Jenn is the only vote to keep Frank and he finally is out of the Big Brother house. On his way out, he only said goodbye to Jenn, leaving the rest in his dust. Is he bitter, Julie asks him? Hell yeah, he's bitter! What did you expect? He fought for years to get into the house just to be the biggest target from the get to. Well Frank, you played a hell of a game and like you or not, we're all going to miss you.

Time for a quick HOH competition, where the players have to guess who said what during various eviction ceremonies this season. Clearly, Shane and Joe either have no attention span or were listening to the voices in their heads during the live shows because they were absolutely terrible at answering the questions. Dan ends up taking HOH and that's Dan for ya - throwing competitions until he can't anymore. He nominates Joe and Ian, and I can't tell if he's actually trying to get Ian out or throwing him up there as a pawn. There's no time to find out!

For the veto competition, the houseguests had to move a shark fin through a very long puzzle and release it, then run back and hit the button to win immunity. After seriously the most stressful three minutes of my life, little Ian emerges from the puzzle first, slamming his button, throwing his shark fin, and cursing in excitement and what I think is anger. I truly have no idea why but Dan put Danielle up next to Joe and she seems genuinely confused. Why is no one realizing that Dan has deals with everyone and is clearly looking out for himself?

I hope the houseguests realize that keeping Danielle in the house is a nightmare for them. As she said last week, she would go home for Dan. She's loyal to the end and that alliance needs to be split up pronto.

At the second eviction ceremony of the night, the loudest chef in the history of reality television (and that's saying a lot considering Gordon Ramsay exists) is evicted from the house. Julie asked Joe if it was part of his strategy to lay low and basically do nothing all season. Oh Jules, you're so cheeky! My favorite Joe moment of this episode, or maybe the entire season, was when he mistakenly told Dan (thinking it was Shane) everything they had just talked about. Woops. "Oh heyyyy..."
