The Real Housewives Of New York Season 5

By Jessica Blackwell

Carole hosted a holiday dinner party even though she thinks Christmas parties are "hokey". She added a nice twist to the secret santa tradition by having everyone pick a number to receive the corresponding gift. The joke was on her though, when she selected a lizard that jumped out of the box! Between the hopping reptile and Aviva's father's sexual references, it was an interesting night.

Sonja strolled into her product shoot extremely late, adorned with bags from Banana Republic as if she didn't have a care in the world. Of course this didn't stop her from acting like the ultimate diva client, despite the fact that she's not actually paying Heather. Needless to say, Heather was annoyed by her lack of urgency. Then she tried to rush Heather and her staff at the end of the afternoon, because she had to pick her daughter up from school! On top of all of that, Sonja refused to give Heather credit for anything, instead choosing to credit James and ignore any of Heather's contributions. What an ungrateful b****!

Aviva further revealed her dependency on Reed when the ladies invited her on a girl's trip to St. Barts. She scoffed at the idea, saying she "hasn't been on a girl's trip since her twenties" and that she "hates to leave Reed, he's her best friend". I'm sorry, but that can't be healthy. Then she had the nerve to say she would bring him on the girls trip. OMG!

Ramona hosted a launch party to celebrate the new addition to her wine brand. Of course, she cornered Sonja the first chance she got, quizzing her about how the shoot went. Sonja was all too happy to throw Heather under the bus, and Ramona, who always has a knack for finding the right words when talking crap about someone, used the word "steam roll" to describe how Heather supposedly tried to take all control at the shoot.

Of course it couldn't end there, Ramona confronted Heather about "black balling" her from the shoot. Sonja seemed to convey the conversation that occurred about Ramona not attending the shoot differently to Heather and Ramona two different ways, which means she's playing both sides of the field. Surprisingly LuAnne was the voice of reason to Ramona, telling her that she wouldn't want her at a shoot either because she's a pain in the a**, and that she finds it hard to believe that Heather steamrolled Sonja.

Aviva's behavior is all over the map, I just can't read her. One minute she's two-faced, and the next she's fiercely loyal to Ramona. She felt justified to question LuAnne about the wine tasting incident, and try and find out what her intentions were, although that is clearly between Ramona and LuAnne and they already settled it.

Heather proved to me this week what I've known all along: she's the realest of the housewives. When LuAnne and Jacques left the party, Aviva and Ramona immediately began talking crap about him saying that his french accent was fake and he didn't even know how to speak french. Heather overheard, got pissed, and confronted them all and rightfully so. Who barely waits until the door closes behind someone before they start talking about them? Especially Aviva, who said in the second episode of the season that she doesn't want the group to become mean girls. Newsflash Aviva: that was mean!

Next week, the argument continues and maybe we'll get to see some more of Aviva's faces!  Stay tuned!
