Bachelor Pad Season 3

by Gina Scarpa

If you're going to attempt to overthrow a power couple on Bachelor Pad, you better make sure you actually get them out of the mansion. Reid thought he had the numbers on his side, but Ed's still there and about to find out that his friend seriously betrayed him. This next competition is going to be crucial for both of them!

The contestants are taken out of the mansion, for once, and brought to a random field (I guess the backyard wasn't big enough) to compete in "Hot Sludge Funday", where teams will have to run through an obstacle course filled with all the yummy items found in a sundae. Unfortunately for these pairs, they don't get to compete with their usual partner. The couples are randomly re-paired up and off we go!

Jamie, who is paired with Ed, gets off to a great start and finishes her round of the race first but her partner struggles to pull himself up the wall of fudge. Michael and David lead the pack of guys and amazingly, David pulls off a photo finish victory. That not only means that he's safe and the vets can't get rid of him (should've done it last week if you wanted him out) but he and his partner Rachel each get to pick people to go out on dates with this week.

David chooses Jamie, Blakeley, and Erica to go on a prom-themed date. Jamie didn't get to go her senior prom and digs up her tumultuous past with her family and turns on some tears for David, who is already smitten with her. Blakeley takes the bully approach to getting the rose saying he owes it to her to show he's a man of his word. Uh no, he owes you his VOTE. That's the deal the two of you made. Erica doesn't make much of a case at all and suddenly seems out of the line of fire. The rose ends up going to Jamie, which drives Blakeley crazy. All she goes on and on about it how bad she needs the money. Then go work two jobs if you have to. Reality tv probably isn't gonna do it for you, especially with that attitude.

For Rachel's date, she takes Michael, Nick, and Tony to Madame Tussaud's wax museum where they dress up as wax figures and play pranks on Bachelor fans on a tour of the place. I guess it was funny, except for the part where Tony had to stand still and listen to people call him "not pathetic but..." Ouch. Without a doubt in her mind, Rachel gives the rose to Michael, while Tony and Nick get a limo ride back to the mansion as their consolation prize. Tony says he'd rather be making out with Rachel than sharing a limo with Captain Protein Powder. Somehow, I don't see Tony hooking up in this house. I like the guy, but I don't get exactly why the producers thought he was Bachelor Pad material.

Before the rose ceremony, let's catch up on some of the drama that took place. Jamie tried to show Chris that she's a woman but he sent her away, which was both awkward and embarrassing for her. WHY does everybody like Chris?! He's arrogant and completely rude, treating the girls like garbage. I'm still trying to figure out who the Real Chris is... this guy or the guy who loved Emily. I'm gonna go with this guy. Emily? Good choice bouncing him out the door when you did.

Reid had Ed convinced that he was on his side until Sarah spilled all the details of his diabolical plan. He also made the catastrophic mistake of boldly announcing to Jaclyn that her partner was going home, but that he'd be happy to partner up with her afterwards. Man, he really isn't good at this game. Donna found out that her name was being thrown around for elimination and coped with it by making out with Nick.

With the house divided, Kalon and Sarah end up being the swing votes this week and they opt to send Donna and Reid home. With all of the female fans out of the house, there's only veterans to vote off. It seems like Blakeley is about to find herself in the line of fire. And will David continue his winning streak or will he be the next to head out in the limo of shame?
