The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 7

by Gina Scarpa

The final Season 7 episode for The Real Housewives of Orange County brings us lost footage of both the reunion and things that happened this year that we never got to see. We first find out that Slade joined the women on stage at the reunion and apologized for what he said at the comedy show about Tamra's and Vicki's appearances. Tamra didn't take it to heart, because she's done her fair share of taking shots at him. It turns out Slade and Gretchen had gone to dinner with Vicki and Brooks to clear the air about their issues and move forward as friends. Vicki is not so quick to forget though, and Gretchen is in no hurry to drop the whole "Vicki's a hypocrite" act.

The surgeries that Tamra and Alexis underwent this season are also rehashed. Alexis says she wouldn't want her daughters getting a boob job at 18, despite the fact that it's pretty common in Orange County. She got her first boob job in college and paid for it herself by bartending. Not sure if I believe it but I'll take her word for it. Heather jumps into say that it's not okay for girls to have procedures like that done that young, and that her husband agrees. When Andy questions whether or not Jim had a chin implant, Alexis goes on the defensive. Who cares?! If you had it done, just admit it. We all have eyes and can see that your faces look different.

A viewer wrote in to question Alexis's choice of words during a speech at her daughters' birthday party. Yeah, really. It got heavy talking about the difficulties of getting pregnant and giving birth. We're given a look at the planning party for that event and whoever that storyteller was that they hired was clearly not on the same page as the others. A person dressed up as a dog? You're in the OC, lady and that's tacky. Alexis will hear of nothing other than princesses with real puppies, a ridiculously overpriced carriage rental, and a grand entrance down the stairs fit for Prom Night. It was all a bit much.

Heather is still working on her restaurant and it's a lot more work that she probably anticipated. During Season 7, she entertained the idea Top Chef's Fabio (love him!) as the man to come up with her menu and lead her kitchen. Not only does Fabio know what he's doing, he also has good business sense and advice for Heather and her partners. We'll see if they listen...

And here I thought we were done hearing about how upset Vicki was that Brianna ran off to Vegas to marry Ryan unexpectedly. It never ends and I'm so glad a viewer wrote in to point out that Vicki always makes moments about her daughter really about herself. When she threw the "real" wedding for her daughter, she even carted them both off to a jeweler to pick out a "real" engagement ring, which Brianna didn't seem to have a problem with... though I think Ryan probably had a problem with the $23,000 price tag!

Speaking of people's kids, Tamra's son Ryan gave her advice not to marry Eddie when she told him that her divorce was about to be finalized with Simon. Ryan hasn't had very good role models when it comes to marriage though, so it's clear why he's against it. Tamra's been divorced twice and his father has divorced three times!

I'm shocked this wasn't included in the season but perhaps they were saving this for the lost footage episode to add some shock value because hell has frozen over! During the season, Tamra and Slade met up for drinks and made amends. After all the years of fighting, they're finally ready to stop slinging mud at one another and move forward on a more positive note. Let's hope it lasts!

If you remember from the reunion episodes, Heather said that Alexis treated both the crew and local department store workers like they were beneath her, which she denied. If you saw her interaction with the designer of her dress line, Tal, during the lost footage episode, you wouldn't find it so hard to believe. Alexis tells Tal that she's not keeping up with marketing or demand, so perhaps they need to work with someone else. It's HER designs! Sometimes, Alexis really needs to stop acting like she knows everything about everything.

We finish up with a look back at the ladies getting out of their comfort zone this season from the mud run to ziplining to white water rafting. They definitely showed us they can get down and dirty!

Alright, who's ready for Season 8?
