The Bachelorette Season 8

by Gina Scarpa

Emily and her band of merry men are headed to London for this week's round of dates on The Bachelorette. The guys meet up with Chris Harrison in Trafalgar Square bright and early to find out that they'll all be going on dates this week - there will be two one on ones and a group date as well.

The first date goes to Sean, and the two have been needing the opportunity to see if there's more between them than just the obvious attraction. While walking through London, the pair stumbles Speaker's Corner, a place where people are encouraged to express their feeling and beliefs. Sean is pulled up to discuss the topic of love and of course, doesn't miss the opportunity to flatter Emily a bit and mention the possibility of a future together. Over dinner in the Tower of London, the conversation between the two is easy and natural. It was no surprise when he was given a rose to stay and continue dating.

For the group date, the guys are asked to act out scenes from Romeo and Juliet. After auditioning, Arie and Doug are deemed the worst and cast as the Nurse (which ended up being pretty hilarious) while others get meatier roles. Ryan, in particular, gets the kissing scene and takes full advantage. Though a lot of the guys were nervous and uncomfortable, they took it all in stride and it was a pretty decent day, with the exception of Kalon telling Emily to go away at one point. Oh wait, it gets worse.

At the after party, because there's always an after party for these dates, the guys discus how Kalon referred to Ricki as "baggage". Superdad Doug isn't going to stand for that so he marches over to Emily and lets her know what he heard. That fires her up to "hood-rat" level and she immediately goes to confront Kalon in front of everyone. He doesn't deny that he said it, but felt it was taken out of context. Emily's response is to tell him to get the f out, refuse to give a rose out, and leave the date to head back to her hotel. Makes you wonder a little bit what her fights with Brad were like, doesn't it?

The last one on one went to Jef - FINALLY, the guy gets his chance to express his feelings. Things start off super awkward though, with a visit from an etiquette coach. Whose idea was this?! Things to a lot better as they shared drinks and dessert during a ride on the London Eye. He was able to really tell her how he feels about her and even steal a few kisses once the ride was over. You better believe he got that rose.

At the cocktail party, Emily wasn't done with the whole Kalon situation, questioning Travis, John, and Arie about why no one stood up for her. Ryan reads a little more Shakespeare to Emily and she can't help but be attracted to the bad boy of the bunch. Without getting on my soapbox too much, I sure hope Emily will send Ryan home when his true colors are revealed. Actually, I wish she'd send him home earlier. He's just not the right fit for her.

In the end, Alejandro was sent packing and quite honestly, I'm amazed he stayed as long as he did.

According to US Weekly, Emily isn't done throwing people out the door quite yet. What did you think of the way she handled Kalon this week?
