Survivor: One World

by Gina Scarpa

Each week, I sit in front of my television hoping that SOMEBODY will make a big move this season on Survivor: One World and each week, I'm disappointed. You still have to wonder, coming off of last week, what made Leif think he was aligned with the women or what made him think he had a snowball's chance in hell of winning the game. Everyone's just afraid of Kim and I'll never understand why. It's not like she's intimidating the way Boston Rob or Russell Hantz can be in their own respective ways.

This week's reward challenge is one that may require players to seek counseling to heal their damaged self esteems once the show is over. Each player answers questions about their fellow tribe members and then everyone must guess how the group answered. Here's what we learned: Kim's in charge, Christina is worthless, Kat is an idiot, and nobody wants to talk to Troyzan again. Ouch. Of course, Kim wins the challenge but despite promising to bring Kat so she can get some food in her system, she chooses Alicia and Chelsea instead.

Oh happy day for Troyzan! He's got a devastated Kat back at camp with him and he jumps on that all afternoon. "You need to wake up!" he yells at her. Yes, she does. They ALL do because Kim is running away with this game and, with an idol in her back pocket, nobody is going to be able to stop her. Sabrina pretends to entertain the idea of jumping ship just so she can catch Christina admitting that she'd flip and vote Kim off. As if Christina wasn't already sixth out.

In the immunity challenge, players oil themselves up and go down a fairly uneventful slip and slide (it sounded a lot cooler in the description) and then complete a ring toss. Paired up, one player must knock another out to make it to the next round. Kim and Chelsea face off in the end, and Kim wins again! Do the women notice NOW that she's a threat? Nope.

Back at camp, Christina is the only one with a good idea: If you can't vote off Kim, take out her right hand person. Yes, vote Chelsea off! She only tells this plan to Troyzan though and then is stupid enough to tell him that the girls are splitting the votes and throwing her name in the mix, in case he plays an idol. All he needs is one more person and he'll be able to blindside Christina and get another three days in this game.

Oh wait, I forgot. Nobody is pointing their finger at Kim except Troyzan. I'll give it to him. He gave a valiant effort over the last two episodes, trying to convince those on the bottom of the totem pole that they could advance themselves further if they went with him instead.  The women stuck to the plan and sent Troyzan to the jury.  Don't they know that having the "I'll deal with it later" attitude won't get any of them anywhere?  Well, except Kim.  It'll get her a million dollars.
