The Challenge: Battle of the Exes

by Gina Scarpa

The Challenge: Battle of the Exes have brought back together some of the most memorable pairings from the season, along with a memorable host - The Miz himself! Man, who wouldn't want to see that guy back to kick some tail?

We start off by taking a look back at the final. With two wins back to back, will Johnny ever get a real job? I'm pretty certain he doesn't have a future as a motivational speaker, because Camila says his methods of motivating her were pretty terrible. Good thing she's a strong-minded, independent competitor or else they might have been trouble on that glacier. Speaking of the glacier, they had a little hook up session out there in Iceland. Doesn't seem like the time to get romantic but hey, maybe they just wanted to keep each other warm.

Apparently, the two were keeping each other warm throughout the Challenge as well and often snuck away to the laundry room because they knew production wouldn't bother them there. Well, now they know for future reference! Camila hasn't spoken to Johnny in over two weeks because the last time they hung out, he ignored her and she calls him a coward on national television for not owning up to his feelings. If there's one thing we've learned this season, it's that you don't want to cross Camila.

Camila wasn't the only one feeling the cold shoulder. In order to be respectful to his woman back home, Mark kept some major distance from Robin. Is it me or does it seem like, all these years later, she still kind of has feelings for him? When trying to figure out why Mark is so well liked, Johnny compares him to a piece of furniture. It's just like he comes with the house and you don't vote a piece of the house in. It's a little bit of a backhanded compliment if you ask me, but the guy does have a point.

Rachel and Aneesa haven't been in a relationship in close to ten years and they're just friends, without the benefits. Sure, they've both wronged each other in the past but they've moved on are a good example of how two people can still stay friends.

On to the couple of the season, CT and Diem. CT takes the blame for most of what happened between them on The Challenge. Diem likes to talk and wanted that verbal closure. At the end of the day, they don't hate each other but they don't talk every day. As much as people want them to get back together, it seems that ship sailed a long time ago and they're never going to get back what they once had.

When we get to Ty and Paula, that's when the drama really amps up a notch. Paula can barely talk as she cries and hyperventilates through a non-explanation of why she did what she did with Ty. Her relationship back home was ruined, not surprisingly, and Ty apologizes for putting her in that situation. Because it was his fault she cheated? Paula seems incapable of articulating her thoughts so Miz makes a wise decision and moves on.

Can Emily stop using being in a cult and Camila being foreign as an excuse for their impression of Ty and Paula that went wrong? Ty calls her out saying, if you have to ask yourself if it's racist, it probably is.

We revisit Camila's chair throwing meltdown one last time, where Johnny announces that she was hooking up with guys that night in the bar so she has no leg to stand on. Camila is also put in the hot seat for a minute for being in the middle of the Rachel/Mark saga of who was throwing who under the bus but before I know it, Johnny calls Robin crazy, she flips out about it, and the reunion is over.

MTV recently announced that The Challenge has been picked up for another season. Who would you like to see come back and compete? I'll always be partial to Coral!
