Tyra Mail "Don't bitch and moan about this hairy situation.  Be ready at 8:45 am."  The girls get excited knowing that makeovers await them.  They meet up with Tyra at Louis Licari's salon who T.B describes as a Hollywood hair legend.  She tells each girl how their hair will be changed which ends up leaving Cassandra bawling and soaked in tears.

Their length stayed about the same, but Coryn went blonde and Diane is given a wheat color mixed with dark streaks. Lisa's hair remains short and she becomes a "believable blonde".  Ebony is given micro-mini braids down to her waist which takes 13 hours to put in.  Kyle's hair is kept long but changed to brunette.  Jayla is given long thick extensions and Kim's short hair becomes a light red.  Nicole receives a long, wavy set of extensions.  Sarah's hair is shortened and given a symmetrical edgy look.  Nik's curly Q's become a "sun-kissed" color.  Bre's hair is extended and straightened for a sexy look.  Last, Cassandra is told that she will be given the extra short boy cut that Mia Farrow wore in Rosemary's Baby.

Cassie's lip starts to giver and the other girls stand behind her laughing.  Tyra tried to assure Cassie that she had a strong face that could support this look.  Until now Cassie had fulfilled her role as an emotionless sociopath that doesn't kill.  But to say that she cried about the new "do" would be an understatement.  She sobbed that she loved her hair and her face remained somber throughout the entire makeover.  Jay reminded her that in Cassie's audition tape she went on about how stylists would love her because she would be easy to work with.

With each new look, Jay Manuel assigned the girls a style to represent with it.  Bre was proud to not experience much change and her new look/style is "ghetto fabulous".  Sarah is to be "Ralph Lauren chic".  Nicole will be the "90s wide-eyed supermodel".  Lisa is a "supermodel with a twist".  Kim was kept close to her familiarity as her style is a "femme boy".  Although, Kim repeatedly says that she feels too feminine with her light hair.  Jayla will be "Yves St. Laurent chic".  Diane is "dressy casual".  Coryn is assigned a "sophisticated" look.  Kyle is "Chanel with an edge".  Nik becomes "bohemian chic." Ebony is assigned the "sophisticated with an edge" look. Overly disappointed Cassandra now must form a "mod look" with an edge.  The girls have a photo shoot busting their new looks and style.

Tyra Mail read something about racking up some fashion and to be ready at 6:30am.  Meanwhile, Cassandra lies in bed as well as calls her boyfriend boohooing about her hair.  Ebony and Nicole play with boxing bobble heads in the next room mimicking Cassie's cries.

The next assignment leads the girls to the rooftop of the Luxe Hotel in Beverly Hills.  A bald man in a polka-dot dress dances his way onto the scene.  Personal stylist and author, James St. James gears the gals up for their challenge.  They get $500 and 90 minutes to find an outfit that represents their assigned look.  Mr. St. James chases the girls down Rodeo drive with a bull horn as encouragement for their mission.

The ladies scrambled in the stores looking for apparel that matched their Jay given style.  Cassandra rode on Ebony's coattails as she begged for her help.  We see several clips of Cassie crying out "is this mod"?  After their run the ladies gather back at the hotel and reveal their attempt to dress according to their style.  The winner gets to keep their outfit.  Everyone did "so-so" and Lisa is the winner.  Apparently her big prize for winning is to choose three items of clothing from the other girls for herself.  She then chose two friends who were able to get one item of clothing off their fellow competitor's backs.

Back at the house, Lisa was getting on everyone nerves as she gave her fervent suggestions on how to model.  Lisa later interviews, "I know every single pose in every single magazine, straight up".  During the commercial break we see sweet Naima and her life as a Cover Girl.  She also appeared as a school bus aide in the following episode of "Veronica Mars".  Tyra Mail said something about seeing double, your not looking in the mirror, be ready at 6:00am.

The next challenge is a pose off on a country farm ranch.  They will not be able to see each other as groups of two pose in the same set and same outfit.  Nik vs. Bre. Sarah vs. Coryn. Lisa vs. Ebony. Kyle vs. Kim. Cassandra vs. Jayla. Diane vs. Nicole.  Nave Nicole wonders how they will ever find an outfit to fit both her and Diane.  We later see that her and Big D' had apparel of their own.  Each picture consisted of country, elegant beauty with horses, wooden fences and hay filled pastures.  Cassandra makes the comment that she will just go back to pageants because it helps one develop more as a woman opposed to modeling which is more of a career.  I am forced to wonder if that was simply a proud cop out for Cassie who couldn't capture the poses.

Later Tyra Mail is read revealing the elimination ceremony to follow the next day.  Tension is high and the girls try to relax as they chill in the hot tub.  Ebony talks about feeling ugly and Lisa shows more overpowering confidence.

Beautiful Tyra stands before the girls naming the prizes and the judges.  James St. James is the guest judge.  Their competitive photos are pulled up side by side and critiqued.  In the case of Sarah vs. Coryn, they feel Sarah's hair cut has transformed her.  Coryn is compared to Tyra in her photo.  Kim and Kyle both get mixed reviews.  As Cassie and Jayla are compared, Tyra decides that she wants to make both of their haircuts shorter.  Lisa's photo is remarked as stunning while Ebony's competing pic does not fare so well.  Unfortunately, in Ebony's pic a few of her mini braids are wrapped around her face.  Lisa dotes that she's been practicing poses since the age of 7.  At Nicole vs. Diane, Nicole gets the props for being a naughty sex kitten and Diane is told she is too reserved.  Both Nik and Bre received fair compliments.

The judges talk.  The Cover Girl of the week is Lisa.  The panel feels that Cassie is lost and Jayla gets an A for effort but a C for results.  They wonder where vivacious Diane has gone.  Nicole is remarked as...gorgeous.  J. Alexander says that Kyle reminds him of a socialite's daughter.  Kim leaves the judges unimpressed but the opposite goes for Lisa.  James states that if the shot of Ebony was her best, he would hate to see the remainder of the roll.

The ladies re-enter.  The winner of each pair will appear on the screen and that means that they are safe.  The remaining six girls are called by name.  Bre, Jayla, Sarah, and Kyle.  The last two are Diane and Ebony.  We know that they must keep the plus size model for a decent duration of the show.  Therefore, I was slightly prepared to say goodbye to Ebony.  Tyra tells Diane to bring her spunk back for her photo's sake.  Then in so many words T.B. tells Ebony that modeling may be just a dream for her.  Diane is given the last photo.

Ebony remains strong but several of the girls break down in tears as they hug her goodbye.  Except Cassandra of course.  Ebony states that she is heartbroken but it only means she is going to go and knock on twenty more doors until someone says yes.

Next week the models have to conquer a catwalk with moving parts.  A previous cycle's model inspired one of their challenges.  At panel someone rudely interrupts the judges and Kim and Sarah's friendship...develops!
