Bill Posley from Survivor: One World

For whatever reason, Colton was on a mission to get rid of Bill this season on Survivor: One World. As the episodes unfolded, we found out that not only did he not like him because he was always trying to be the funny, cool guy around camp, but also because he was trying to make a living as a comedian (which Colton didn't find to be a real job), and even because he's poor (in Colton's mind). On this week's episode, the Manono tribe did something that has never been done in the history of the show - they gave up their immunity to the losing tribe just so they could go to tribal council and get rid of Bill. Today, we talked to him in an exclusive interview about what he thinks made him a great player, being blindsided at tribal council, and the power that Colton has in the game.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What made you want to play Survivor?
A. Bill: Just randomly, I watched Heroes Vs. Villains. I just fell in love with the show. The idea that I could live for two months without the phone, the internet... you know, I'm ex-military... I love that kind of stuff. I thought it would be really, really amazing and fun. This show is like the birth of reality television and to go back and watch it, you're just like, "Wow!" I didn't realize how incredible this show really was. The competitor inside me, the military man inside me, the comedian inside me, the athlete inside me was like, "Yes!"

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Where did Colton's issues with you come from?
A. Bill: My relationship with Colton is one of experience vs. inexperience. He's sheltered, he has not experienced much of life outside of his family and outside of his world. Somebody like me... I was picked on my entire life, I left home at 17 to join the military, I've been on my own since then since coming back from overseas to come to Los Angeles with the dream of acting, performing, and comedy. That road has been crazy. You know, he never worked a real job in his life. A lot has been given to him. We have two totally different lives that we both had to lead. And it's just kind of like what I said, I'm fascinated by people of all walks of life and he's closed off. Like he said at tribal council, "Poor people and people like Bill, I don't associate and I won't associate with here."

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Was going to tribal council after winning immunity the worst idea in the history of Survivor?
A. Bill: It's one of the worst ideas because of how it turned out. I'm also playing a game too so I think I have guys on my side, going into this tribal council. I don't know how much power Colton has because quite frankly, he doesn't like me, so I'm not in that clique of people. When he tells me he has an idol, that's the first I'm hearing about it. I don't know that he has power over the guys like that. When guys are telling me, "Yeah we should get Colton," or "Yeah, we're with you," I believe that. At tribal council, I'm thinking that if I plead my case strong enough, the guys who have told me they are with me are going to stand and blindside Colton because he thinks Leif or I are going home. But what I don't know is how much power Colton has and believe me, am I surprised by that! Had the plan worked and Colton goes home with the idol, it becomes maybe the best idea. The line between stupidity and brilliance is very thin. It is what it is.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Is there anything you would've done differently or would it have made a difference if you didn't play the game with Colton?
A. Bill: Yeah... I guess it would have. Again, I tried to confront him and see why he didn't like me. I don't know. You know, I like the way I played on my day-to-day. I was the guy that people hung out with, I made people laugh. I liked that aspect of my gameplay. I didn't lie to anybody or do any of that kind of stuff. With what I know now, was going to tribal council? At the time, did I believe in what I was doing and it would pay off? Yes I did, or I wouldn't have done it.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What do you feel were your best qualities as a player?
A. Bill: Sense of humor, athleticism, and leadership ability. The challenge where I commanded the guys to run around that obstacle course in such an efficient way I'm good at that. I'm really good at that. Being in the military, you're trained to lead men. I believe that's one of my strongest qualities. I'm very athletic and you know, to take something from Jeff Probst, I think I'm a pretty likable guy. Maybe not to everyone, but I think that I am and I think that my humor is a very strong point of my game.
