Christina Milian from The Voice Season 2

Last night, The Voice returned after the Super Bowl and kicked off season 2 with a bang. From Jesse Campbell to Tony Lucca, one contestant after the other impressed both the judges and viewers at home. Everything we know and loved about the format of the first season has returned but singer Christina Milian has signed on as the new social media correspondent. Today we talked to her in an exclusive interview to learn more about her take on The Voice and how fans can keep up with her during season 2.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: How did you end up becoming the social media correspondent this season?
A. Christina: You know, I think the people at NBC and the producers of the show... the first season, they had no idea they were going to have such a huge success. All you can do from there is get better and better. I think they brought me on because it makes sense. I'm a recording artist. Even though I've been here, technically, I'm still new to the game. When these artists are getting on and they're nervous, I actually understand and I feel for them. I'm able to communicate everything that the fans, that real people, want to see. We've been in such a digital era. I get to have fun and do all the cool behind the scenes stuff.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You were already very active on Twitter before The Voice. What do you, as a celebrity, like about it?
A. Christina: I think what I like about Twitter, you can reach everybody - millions of people. In the beginning, I didn't like that your messages have to be short but now I'm happy because of the attention span. And for me to be able to communicate, it's easier. Let's get to the point! I have a billion words to say usually and I don't treat real life as a Twitter conversation. I do like that it's so accessible. Every person, young or old, it really doesn't have an age to it. It's great promotion and great communication.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Will you be doing backstage interviews during the show like Alison Haislip did last season?
A. Christina: Oh absolutely! And if you go on NBC.com right now, you can see all of my interviews with all of the contestants that you've already seen on the show. You can see interviews that I've done with the coaches as well, discussing who they're bringing on to their teams.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: The show is full of talent and it's very positive. Is that something that you like about being part the Voice?
A. Christina: Yeah. First off, it's a show about talent. The show is called The Voice. I've never done a show like this. This is really all about up the judges and they can't even see anybody's faces. The contestants have to sweep these megastars off of their feet. It's real. You have four awesome coaches who are totally into it.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: If you were competing on the show, would it make you nervous to perform to the backs of those four red chairs?
A. Christina: I totally would! Are you kidding me?! Imagine you're sitting in front of strangers... it's like being at the Grammys! That's almost how it has to feel to that person. You can hear a little bit of nerves but I think the judges understand.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: After last night's episode, I'm already pulling for Tony Lucca! When you watch the contestants audition and perform, do you pick favorites?
A. Christina: I do! When I'm watching the show, some of them I'm like, "Oh my gosh! Somebody pick them!" Or let's say I'm watching like, Jesse Campbell. I'm thinking, "He would be perfect for Christina's team." In my head, I feel like I can get in Christina's head. When it airs tonight, there's more people, more talent, it keeps getting better.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Speaking of, last season, I felt like Javier was going win hands down from the beginning. Just after last night, I have no idea who could win. Do you feel like they stepped it up in season 2?
A. Christina: Definitely! This time, it's not one of those situations, you'll be like, "This person is the best! Everyone else can go!" It's going to be a really hard choice and it's going to be really hard for the fans. They're going to want to call and vote for everybody!

Keep up with Christina all season long @NBCTheVoice and @CMilianOfficial. The Voice airs Mondays at 8/7c on NBC.
