Top Chef: Texas

On last night's Top Chef: Texas, Padma was joined by Emeril Lagasse and guest judge Cat Cora (host of Bravo's new show Around The World In 80 Plates) for the next Quickfire challenge. The cheftesants were paired up and had their technical skills put to the test. They had to butterfly shrimp, shuck corn, and make fettuccine as fast as possible. Whatever time was leftover was used to create a winning dish.

Paul wasn't kidding when he said that he's bad luck whenever paired up with Ed. At the last minute, he forgot to get the shrimp on the plate, resulting in disqualification. The judges decided that the Grayson and Chris are the winning team, with Lindsay and Sarah left feeling like the only reason it wasn't them walking away with $10,000 was because the tarragon they used didn't go over well with Cat.

For the Elimination challenge, partners became opponents - at a Healthy Choice block party, pairs will be making a version of the same dish and the attendees will decide who served the better plate. As a little twist, the dishes must be healthy but of course, they didn't find that out until after they picked their dishes. Bet Lindsay and Sarah are regretting that meatball!

The judges really loved Paul's usage of turkey meat in his dish but were left feeling that Ed's dish was dry and disappointing. Chris's chicken salad was healthier but Grayson's tasted better - well yeah! Tofu paste can't be good. Lindsay's meatball had tons of flavor, making it the favorite over Sarah.

At Judges' Table, Paul, Grayson, and Lindsay are named the winners of their head to head battles. Tom loved Paul's hot sauce so much, he told him to bottle it - and if he does, somebody let me know! Grayson's chicken salad wasn't enough (Tom thinks it's boring) and Lindsay came close with her meatball but Paul pulls out another win.

Chris's sandwiched sat out in the sun - a major no no - and the judges decide that they've seen enough from him. He's sent to Last Chance Kitchen to take on Beverly.
