The Biggest Loser 13: Episode 2 Recap

The Biggest Loser 13

Last night's Biggest Loser starts off with a twist (shocker!) - the player with the highest percentage of weight loss can give immunity to a player on the losing team. Of course, that means that they can save their former partner. Alison asks for team leaders and Kim N and Kimmy S raise their hands for red, while Joe and Emily step up for the black team.

Both sets of representatives have to bet the percentage of weight loss that their team will lose. The black team folds, while the red team puts all their chips on 3.8%. They'll have to lose about 10 pounds a person but in seasons past, week 2 usually is a 2% week for teams. Yikes! What did Kim and Kimmy do?

I'll tell you. Besides firing up their teammates for setting a seemingly unrealistic goal, they also awoke the beast in Dolvett - and he's already scary in the gym to begin with!

After Joe and Mike have a serious meeting with Dr. H (Mike used to smoke two packs a day when he was 12!!), The Biggest Loser brings in their new nutrition expert, Rachel Beller. She certainly rained on my parade when, at a trip to the grocery store, she revealed that two sushi rolls have as many carbs as six slices of bread. And here I thought I was eating healthy all these years!

Appropriately, the prize for this week's challenge is The Biggest Loser Meal Plan for 6 months. Teams must turn a heavy wheel to retrieve puzzle pieces, and they are neck and neck for just about the whole thing. The black team wins by just one second!

Rachel heads to visit Adrian and Daphne, who were eliminated before even stepping foot on the ranch, because they need to drop 50 pounds in a month in order to have a shot at getting back in the game. Speaking of 50, I only see 50% motivation from this team and if they're coming back, I feel like it will be because of Adrian.

During Last Chance Workout, it seems there's a little tension between the trainers. Bob thinks that Dolvett stole his workouts and exercises, and basically says he's contributing to a toxic environment in the gym. Who do you side with?

At the weigh in, the numbers on the scale go as follows:

Red Team
Kim: -3
Kimmy: -4
Roy: -5
Lauren: -4
Nancy: -5
Conda: -7
Mike: -7
Mark: -8
Buddy: -9
TOTAL: -52 (2.09%)

Black Team
Gail: -5
Megan: -4
Cassandra: -5
Emily: -4
Chris: -6
Joe: -8
Jeremy: -7
Chism: -8
TOTAL: -47 -5lb advantage = -52 (2.22%)

Had the red team not lost the bet that they had made, they would've won their second weign-in in a row. On the red team, Mark gets the highest percentage of weight loss so he's safe. Chris, on the black team, loses the highest percentage and is able to save Roy from elimination this week (not that I think he was on anyone's radar).

Earlier in the episode, the red team was gung ho to vote out Kim if they lost the weigh-in but after the Last Chance Workout, they focus on Mike instead, feeling that he slacked off.  At the elimination ceremony, Conda in particular attacks him but her issue is really that he called her brother "tank" in the first week.  She makes sure that she lets him have it before she and her team send him packing.
