The Real World: San Diego

by Gina Scarpa

When the roomies find out that they're taking a trip to Cabo San Lucas on The Real World: San Diego, no one is more excited than Priscilla. Do you even need to ask why? The drinking age south of the border is 18 so she can finally let loose and party!

Right before the trip, Frank sees a therapist to try to deal with his roommate issues, specifically, his issues with Zach and Ashley. He just can't let go of the fact that they don't want to be close with him and this visit to the shrink is just the tip of the iceberg.

In Cabo, there's drinking, there's dancing, there's streaking, and there's crab circles. Crab circles are when you form a circle in a pool and make claws with your hands - they definitely invented that one. When Zach and Ashley don't want to play crab circles, that really pisses Frank off.

After an afternoon on a party boat, and after WAY too much drinking, Priscilla tries to make out and hook up with Nate. I thought for sure he'd take the bait but he makes a quick exit and avoids what would've undoubtedly become a highly awkward situation.

More events in Cabo include parasailing, Priscilla puking off the side of a boat, a swim with dolphins complete with a very scared Nate, and a horseback ride along the beach. Things wrap up with a very nice dinner at a restaurant, and Sam and Frank decide that that's a great time to interrogate Zach about his feelings about gays in the military.

Now, there are times to have discussions about sensitive topics that can spark heated debates but dinner at a classy restaurant is not one of those times. Even more than that, Zach and Ashley are never going to see eye to eye with Sam and Frank so there's really no point in having the conversation at all. Still, Frank insists and ends up attacking the two of them. On the one hand, he wants so desperately for them to like him but on the other, he continuously pouts, talks behind their backs, and confronts them. I'd feel uncomfortable too!

Back in San Diego, Frank tries to approach the couple about including themselves more with the rest of the roomies. He insists he's talking on behalf of the others (Sam, Priscilla, Alex, and Nate) but it seems like it's all about him. The conversation gets heated and Zach tells Frank to get out of the room, basically before he punches him and gets kicked off the show with just a few days to go.

Will these two be able to find common ground and forge some kind of friendship before it's time to say goodbye?
